How to FIX the broken controller mapping
By Sero
It seems like a lot of people have issues with the broken input mappings as of the Volume 6 update. Unfortunately, this has something to do with the way that the EA App handles inputs, which means that there won't be a patch anytime soon.

The steps detailed in this guide helped me to fix the issues on every single launch.

Step 1
Make sure that your controller settings look like this:
1. Disable Steam Input for Xbox Controllers
2. Uninstall Xbox Extended Feature Support Drivers, if you have them installed
3. Reinstall Xbox Extended Feature Support Drivers
4. Enable Steam Input for Xbox Controllers
5. Enable Steam Input for Generic Controllers

Step 2
Click on "Add a Game" in your Steam client and select "Add a Non-Steam Game.."

Step 3
Look for the EA App and select it to add it to Steam.
The program path should end with "/EALauncher.exe".

Step 4
Launch the EA App through Steam.
Just double click on it in the browser or hit "Play".

Step 5
Launch Need for Speed: Unbound from within the EA App instance, which you have started on Steam. Just hit the Play icon in the EA App.

Done!
Your controller inputs should no longer be messed up.

If you want to stop being displayed as "In-game EA App" on Steam, just kill the "EADesktop.exe" process in the task manager. Please note that the fix will stay active, as long as that "EADesktop.exe" process stays active. You will be able to launch directly into Unbound, if you leave it running.
