The Element Of Surprise

Description
10th July 1943, 0730 AM. Italian strongpoint at Priolo the "Y" intersection:

Company A, 1st Btl. 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Capt. Edwin B. Sayre.
After the first brief attack on the Italian positions, Capt. Sayre had to withdraw his soldiers and wait for more of his scattered troops to find their way to him.
Soon, nearly 50 men arrived, including mortar support. The second attack had to succeed, as the first German troops were expected to arrive early in the morning.

The US paratroopers again moved in to seize the Priolo crossroads.
