Potion Mastery

Beskrivelse
This mod is a yet another take on the unlimited potion concept. The goal of this mod is to reduce potion hoarding by encouraging players to drink potions as soon as they find them, as well as reducing potion farming without trivializing them completely.

Drinking potions will give you a small amount of "mastery" towards it. Mastery will increase the duration of that potion the next time you drink it, eventually becoming infinite. It takes quite a lot of potions to reach max mastery. You are not expected to max them all.
Potion duration also stacks, and you get to keep the buffs when you die, but you lose some duration. This feature can be adjusted in the configs.

This effect will work with most modded potions as well, but it will not work with potions that give multiple buffs, unless they combine the effect into a single buff.
This was not designed to be used with mods that add potions in shops, like alchemistNPC or Calamity, or mods that add their own unlimited potion mechanic, like Fargos Mutant. Check your mod configs to disable these features.

when I reach max mastery for any effect the buff just disappears, at first I thought this was an issue with the buff slots option or whatever it was called but I have that set to 200 and it still happens

Obviously talking about Calamity, but the breath loss may be vanilla as well

Best mod for this kind of thing, could you fix dying to Abyss/Breath loss nuking all of your buffs tho? Lost all of them even when I had the option to only lose 3mins of buff time

I luv this, Thanks, Also Is it possible to add a blacklist and a whitelist for buffs and debuffs this can apply to?

a custom UI is not necessary. You can disable potion effects by right clicking the buff and reapply them by drinking the potion again. mastered potions won't be consumed.

So I was wondering if the custom UI idea was considerer now? to enable/disable them I mean, it'd make the mod like perfect imo

I use this mod with calamity, but buying potions from shops makes things too easy. There is a setting to turn off potions in shops from calamity

So this mod does not support calamity? I like playing terraria with calamity as the only content mod, along with just QoL stuff, such as this or veinminer

not sure if it was already suggested, but it'd be really cool if you could add a custom UI that has a list of all buffs that you can gain mastery in, which would let us toggle on and off any buffs we have infinite mastery in, along with displaying how many potions are needed to reach full mastery.
