Console Binds and Sensitivity
By naner martyr
Guide for TF2 controller binds and sensitivities with people who have played console in mind. (No gyro or Dualshock or Dualsense testing as everything was done with an Xbox Series controller and there are better guides for using gyro and PlayStation controllers.)

Introduction
As previously stated this guide is more for console players who for whatever reason would like to use a controller on PC.

The layout I've made will serve as a baseline with binds and sensitivity to be customized to be more like console or made better overall with the options we have.

It is impossible to get your sensitivity to feel 1:1 like console however.

It is called:
"TF2 Console Player Ideal Bind and Sensitivity Template"

Binds
Basic multi-class binds on console example:

With auto reload being a thing rebinding your left trigger to reload is not necessary anymore for Soldier, Scout etc freeing up a button for something else.

Basic bind template using Steam's controller settings:

You can bind multiple actions to the same buttons; an example would be having Y as Taunt but it needs to be held to prevent an accidental press.

Sensitivity
Team Fortress 2 on Console has, to use Overwatch sensitivity terms, a linear into dual-zone and exponential ramp with aim smoothing. The sensitivity is low and able to make micro adjustments for the first 20% of the stick pull, then it has the same sensitivity until you get to about 60-70% which, past that point, allows for flicks and rapid movement.

The sensitivity that feels most like max on Console:

The stick response curve on linear feels similar with the deadzone settings below but this is something I would say you should mess more with.

The Deadzone which feels like console but has been improved with a lower pull time before the stick starts to move:

Using circle I find feels better however cross or square may feel better if you've ever sniped on console.

A note on deadzones is that I was unable to recreate the super high sensitivity when the stick was all the way out using the deadzone options, however I did find that outer ring commands and changing the options in camera could be fruitful in attempting to recreating it although I did not mess much with them.

End
If you have any questions about this guide, Console TF2 or controller sensitivity in general just let me know.
