I renamed the addon thats downloaded to something random besides Japanese and it worked. Perhaps reupload this but without the non-Japanese character?

@東田 綾乃 i think the reason why this error occures is due to the name of the addon (special characters like %$#@ etc..., or your addon is corrupted when uploading it somehow, you could just reupload your addon to see if it fixes it, again, you can make that decision, i have no right or say, but that would be the cause of the issue that people have, i have this error myself, thankfully i got a folder version of the addon, anywho, take care!

since gmod doesnt allow you to find legacy folder addons by default, this one made by rubat does, it will have Addons (Legacy) in the bottom left of the spawnmenu (with a +)

install the program first, then after you did that, subscribe to this addon, after you did that, copy the page url in steam (right click on the page and press copy page url, or just click the url and it will copy it to the clipboard)

after you did that, open gmpublisher, go to the downloader tab, paste your url in the, Paste Workshop IDs, links, collections in here section, and press enter, after you did that, once its done downloading and extracting, press open in that downloader window, it will take you to the folder, cut or copy the addon folder here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons

run the game and you should be good to go
