Noita: how to find orbs in New Game plus
Par Mykolkaaa et 1 collaborateur(s)
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have recently completed the 33 orb peaceful ending in Noita. It took me 15+ hours, too many of which I spent looking for the orbs in the parallel worlds in NG+. This is because, unlike in New Game, the orbs spawn randomly in certain areas of the world (apart from the mountain and pyramid orbs), making the search unpredictable every time. This guide should help you find the orbs of True Knowledge that are scattered across the NG+ world.

Introduction
THIS GUIDE CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

If you looked for this guide, you probably already know a fair bit about the game and are simply having the same difficulty in finding the 33 orbs as I had, thanks to their random spread around general areas.

That is all that I'm going to cover here, as there are already guides out there that walk you through the method of getting the Peaceful Ending step by step.
Guiding powder method
This is the in-game method of finding the orbs. Combining unstable teleportatium and flummoxium creates guiding powder, which upon reacting with air will evaporate and shoot out a trail of rainbow-coloured fireworks that will point to the nearest orb.
This is obviously a huge limitation, as you might think that you’ve moved far enough from an already picked up orb only to be led back there by the guiding powder. From my experience it’s best to combine this with the next method.
Checking your coordinates method
It is possible to check your current coordinates in the game files. Go to
C:/users/[windows_username]/AppData/LocalLow/Nolla_Games_Noita/save00/ and open the player.xml file using wordpad/notepad++

Near the top, in the <_Transform> element's attributes you can find position.x
position.y.

These coordinates are updated when the player uses 'Save & Quit' or the faster option 'Menu' -> 'Mods' -> 'Restart with enabled mods active', which works even if no mods are enabled.

Now that you know how to check your coordinates, you can check the coordinates of the orbs spawn locations using the Noita Orb Atlas website[kaliuresis.github.io]:

In New Game+, there are 11 orbs in the main world, with 22 more found at the exact same locations in East and West parallel worlds.

Unfortunately, the NOA website only tells you the coordinates of the main world orbs. To find them in parallel worlds, I simply added/subtracted the width of 1 NG+ world to the x-coordinate (y-coordinates stay the same), which is about 32 763 pixels (no I did not pull this number out of my ass). Based on the above seed as an example, orb 02 would be found at:
  • West (-41 288, 2816)
  • Main world (-8448, 2816)
  • East (24 315, 2816)
(+- a few hundred pixels)

This is the bit I wished I could find a guide on how to do, which inspired me to write this hopefully useful guide.

Draw a map!
Personally, I found it easiest to literally draw a map of the world and write down the coordinates you need to get to :D

Doing this and working out the coordinates of the parallel worlds’ orbs allowed me to collect the 33 orbs in significantly less time than I otherwise would have plus I saved some of my sanity for future runs.

I made a related guide that includes map that may explain my earlier gibberish better. If you want, include the map in your guide.

You mean Frozen vault orb (tentacle)? I locate it by finding the essence eater on surface, travelling roughly half way to lake and digging down. If you estimated that correctly, you'll see three chunks worth of Vault biome. Move left until EDR and drop down until next biome border. Move along said border to right until next vertical border. Up 1-1,5 chunk and back to left.

As said, corrupted orbs are in same locations as true orbs. Once found, one can dig up in order to locate themselves on surface.

Guiding powder points to nearest orb room, not nearest unpicked orb. The key is to read EDR formations.

When I tried to look for orb nr 6 (under the snow biome), I could not find it for the life of me. Even with the guiding powder, it would seemingly always lead me to the other orb nearby (it also didn't help that the guiding powder was bugging out and not shooting out its fireworks :steamsad:)

I really wanted to use a world travel wand, but I did not have the divide by 10 spell unlocked yet!! xdd so I ended up having to calculate the coordinates of the parallel worlds' orbs and picking them up one by one. That's the part I couldn't find a guide on how to do, as the orb atlas website only shows orbs' coords in the main world

I'm currently doing NG28 run (I'm at NG16 right now). Your method seems a bit complicated.

EDR formation is (almost) always same. If you can read terrain generation correctly in-game you can rather easily locate yourself related to orb spawn are. For example Sandcave orb area can be found by digging down from right side of pyramid until you see "missing" EDR block. Stop there and start moving left from that EDR corner. Once you hit next biome border, drop down roughly one chunk and repeat until you hit the orb room. Then proceed to next. All orbs have at least somekind of EDR border.

Now take out accurate long distance travel wand and collect both east and west orbs with two cast. On paper this will cut roughly 66% search time. I'm using Haiku's deerswapper/allseeing eye build. Sadly that sometimes seems to sen me to hell/sky instead of next orb.
