Mantle - Fan-made Halo Card Game

Description
Mantle is a fan-made Halo card game made on a new unique strategy card game system. The Mantle card game system is created and owned by Brandon 'Vorked' Miller and owned under 100DOS. The likeness, characters, symbols, and art used on the cards are owned by Microsoft and 343 Industries.

Mantle revolves around battling against your opponent using characters, events, and battlefields of Halo's past. The player begins with two stats, Fortification and Deployment.

Fortification is the Player's health, where the Player must do everything in their power to keep their Fortification from running out. When a Player's Fortification is reduced to 0, they lose the game.

Deployment is the "currency" used to deploy cards onto the field. Each turn will give the Player a set amount of Deployment, which the player has options to increase or play more cards. The stronger the card, the more Deployment it will cost.

Players will use Cards like Characters and Vehicles to attack the Enemy's Fortification in an attempt to reduce it to 0. These Cards are also used to defend against enemy attacks, which creates a strategy of attacking OR defending. Once a card attacks, it cannot defend. This is where your strategy comes into play.

Characters are split between Characters, Heroes, and Leaders. Character cards are your average attacking unit. Character cards will almost always have an Ability they can use while on the field. Hero Cards are stronger Character Cards that have stronger stats or stronger Abilities. And finally, Leader Cards are Cards that have the strongest abilities and can only have one in your deck at a time. Leaders will also make more use of "Links" which will increase the amount of benefits other cards can receive.

Most cards will use what is called a Link. Links are used to reduce the cost of a card as you play it. If the card you're playing from your hand shares a link with a card already on the field, it will reduce the Deployment cost of playing that card.

Weapon and Equipment Cards can be applied to character, hero, and leader cards. This allows for more abilities and stat increases for the cards that use them. Each character, hero, and leader card can have only one weapon and one equipment card equipped at a time.

Vehicle cards are similar to character cards, but they cannot equip weapons or equipment cards. Vehicles are slightly cheaper at base than a character card, but are usually much stronger and will have their own unique array of Abilities.

Emplacement Cards are basically a base that the player can build up, these are cards that cannot attack and can only defend against being attacked by the enemy. These cards offer a large amount of passive and active abilities that can turn the tide of battle.

Event Cards exist to simulate events on the battlefield across all of Halo, from firing off Halo arrays to simple rescue missions to return falling Cards back onto the field. These cards can be played in more scenarios than other cards and are designed with much stronger abilities than your average card that stays on the field. Once an event card is played, its effect is activated and then it is removed from the field.
