100% Fade or Full Fade
The Fade skin is an Anodized Airbrushed finish typically with three base colors. Purple, Pink, and Yellow are applied to the weapon surface via a technique called Triplanar Mapping. There are 1000 Seed pattern variations in the Fade finish, each of which determines the percentage of the Knife’s blade being covered in the Fade colors and the ratio of these colors.

However, the Butterfly Knife has a distinct characteristic where the blade is always fully covered in the Fade pattern even at low Fade percentages, and only the ratio of colors changes depending on the seed pattern. This also results in two completely unique Full Fade types for the Butterfly Knife. At 80% Fade, the Butterfly Knife is referred to as a Full Yellow Fade, while at 100% Fade, it is referred to as Fullest Fade, where a major chunk of the blade is covered in Purple and Pink, with Yellow hardly visible, and is considered to be the most valuable pattern.

Impact Of Seed Patterns On The Value Of a Butterfly Knife Fade
Seed patterns are the most important element to keep an eye on when you are looking to purchase a Butterfly Knife Fade, or for that matter have unboxed one and want to know its value on the market. This will save you from paying a sum that may be much higher than the actual value of the knife, since Fade percentages on the Butterfly Knife at 98%, 99% (Fake Full Fade), and 100% (Full Fade) are very hard to discern even on close inspection of the skin.

The Butterfly Knife Fade comes only in two different wear conditions, which are the Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions, a phenomenon that also applies to every other weapon that comes with the Fade finish. The float value on the Butterfly Knife Fade ranges from 0.00 to 0.08.

The larger range of wear values lying in the spectrum of Factory New condition means that there is a much lower chance to unbox a Fade skin in Minimal Wear condition. As the float values increase, the blade on the knife starts to develop scratches, which consequently reduces its value. As such, lower float values have a higher demand owing to the clean blade that they result in.

Butterfly Fade Float
Float is a very important thing to consider when talking about Butterfly Fade. Low floats one will go for a lot more on the rare patterns than normal float ones.

Butterfly are however a bit more complicated when it comes to price and floats than most knives. A low float makes sure there are fewer scratches on the knife than a normal float one.
