Historical Institutions 3.0

Description
A revival of the outdated historical institutions mod. Significantly reduced institution spread and increased cost for non-European cultures are included, to reflect the emergence of Europe, as the center of global affairs during the era of EU4 (EUROPA Universalis). There are both pre-1600 modifiers and post-1600 modifiers that affect institutions. Post-1600 modifiers lower institution spread by larger degrees in non-European countries in order to represent Europe's continuously increasing lead, as well as balance out the globalized institutions starting from global trade.

Pre-1600 Modifiers (based on tech group):

Western European:
-Embracement cost: -10%

Eastern European:
-Embracement cost: +10%
-Institution spread: -20%

Muslim:
-Embracement cost: +100%
-Institution spread: -85%

Oriental:
-Embracement cost: +100%
-Institution spread: -60%

African:
-Embracement cost: +200%
-Institution spread: -100%

Indigenous:
-Embracement cost: +500%
-Institution spread: -125%

Post-1600 Modifiers:

Western European:
-Embracement cost: -10%

Eastern European:
-Embracement cost: +10%
-Institution spread: -20%

Muslim:
-Embracement cost: +175%
-Institution spread: -120%

Oriental:
-Embracement cost: +350%
-Institution spread: -175%

African:
-Embracement cost: +250%
-Institution spread: -165%

Indigenous:
-Embracement cost: +250%
-Institution spread: -165%

This mod should be compatible with most other mods, including Eurocentric Institutions. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3057180352&searchtext=eurocentric

Im glad you liked my mod

the purpose of most of the game mechanics should facilitate the way the period did play out while allowing a clever player the opportunity to change that course for the nation they control. they went way off the rails especially with regard to institutions and technology, so thank you for trying to make a mod that course corrects with as much compatibility as possible.

this mod probably wont get any new 'content' but eu4/pdx games modding is quite simple, you could probably find a good video going over the basics

Any chance you could make this compatible with Extended Timeline? I've looked through the code and ET adds more "early" tech groups, like Barbarians and Romans, that have to reform into one of the major groups. Thought about doing this myself, but I am not familiar with EU4 modding.

is it safe to add this mod during ongoing playthrough?

Could you make a version with intensified modifiers? Maybe 2-3x?

I don't believe it would, but if you spot any bugs please let me know

Random update today, wonder if this will break the mod?

Just gonna say, comments, if you don't like the modifiers the mod gives, then don't install it. That's what i'm doing, no need to insult the mod creator or anyone who wants realistic institutions as well.
