Af Undead Flareon og 1 partnere
Pyri Here! What's a War Pig? Why are they hated? Why do they take the game way too seriously?

I bet some of you asked those questions above, right? Well, this guide will teach you the BAD kinds of tryhards there are out there in TF2.

Welcome! (+Quick Note)
Quick Disclaimer: I don't own the "War Pig" phrase, Soundsmith does.

Welcome to the War Pig/Bad Tryhard Guide. Here, you will learn about....well...War Pigs.

What's a War Pig, you ask? Well, What's the best way to put it? hmmmm.....!! Oh, I know! Imagine you're on a fun server where killing is not the only option to have fun. You can talk, conga, high five, and all that without the needing to kill or ruin someone's day.
But Then...
A player joins in. He seems to be new or has been heavily experienced in tf2. You say Hi to greet this new player on the server who's on the opposite team. next thing you know, he's aiming his gun straight at you. What comes next?

Answer: He kills you, kills your teammates, shouts at his team for not "playing the game" and being nice to the other team, and demanding that everyone "plays the game by how it's supposed to be played". He doesn't care for high fives or RPS, he doesn't care for friendlies and rather kill them for some reason like "They're nothing but strange fodder" or some bs reason like that, and all the thinks about is "Kill, Do Objective, Win Game!". doesn't usually care for others no matter who's team he's on and just wants things to be "His way".

Yeah, THAT guy. Sounds like a true party-goer, huh? *insert Eyeroll here*

Now before we get to the main topic, let me point this out: The Answer only applies to players who do said things on the following:
- A Serious Player taking things WAY too seriously when they dont have to.
- A Player who yells at everyone because they're not "playing the game like they should"
- A Player who gets their rocks off from killing a peaceful environment
- A Player who Screams and berates his team for not putting up to his/her 'standards'

Tryhards in general tend to be really hated on certain servers. To them, TF2 is only about doing the objective and killing anyone who tries to stop you. But then, there are also the "war pigs", people who do that crap ON PURPOSE in a silly environment (aka 2fort 75% of the time and Hightower 99% of the time), sometimes even ignoring the server admin or the server rules(both apply only to community-owned servers) for the sake of proving their point of TF2 being a "Objective Game" and not a "Game of Friendship and Fun".

Well, this guide will tell you the many types of War Pigs you might encounter while playing TF2.

Also Quick Note: This reworked Guide is NOT about tryhards(People who try their hardest to win), but the people who take the game way too seriously, ruin the atmosphere, and are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. Now, there's nothing WRONG with doing the objective (Unless the entire atmosphere of the room is Silly), I can respect that, but don't be "THAT guy" just because some Hoovy in a corner is giving sandviches to everyone or an A-Pose Scout or Sniper is just standing in a corner and creepily staring at everyone who walks by.
Tryhards and War Pigs: Learn the Difference!
now before we go on the Main List, Let's bring out some key differences between the Two.

Tryhards:
- They play the map objective. Sometimes to an extent.
- May sometimes interact with friendlies, but most of the time ignores them
- Someone who is not out to "ruin the fun for everyone"
- Sometimes may be silent or minimally talkative.
- Has good social skills and game sense.
- can range from mediocre to great in terms of skill.
- Doesn't care for flashy kills, just wants to get the job done.
- Will question themselves whenever they get a questionable kill(90% of the time, it's either Source Engine's fault or Random Crit bs.)
- Has a Pocket Medic
- Say Thanks after every kill. (gotta be polite, ya know.)

War Pigs:
- They play the map objective. (with one exception..)
- Will kill friendlies on sight, no matter what.
- If their team is not up to standard, he/she WILL let them know.
- Insults someone for not being "up to standard"
- Berates Newbies/Inexperienced Players (and sometimes try to votekick them)
- Flaunts, Gloats, and Taunts after every kill, deserved or not
- Rages in chat whenever killed by someone who is better than him/her at the game.
- Has a Medic Girlfriend who'll heal no one else and farm uber from friendlies.
- May sometimes go for flashy kills, and sometimes fail at it. (looking at you, spy mains. Trickstabs aren't a priority/necessity.)
- Will call killing a friendly "Skill" (You're shooting a non-combatant who's standing perfectly still. That ain't skill, dude.)
- Complains over even the TINIEST of bad coincidences towards them.
- Will get mad if they dont have a medic shoved up their rectum 24/7.
The "Highlander/Pubstomper" War Pig
Oh boy, i'm gonna get so much hate from Highlander players.

in a bit of a note: These kinds are tryhards care for only two things: Killing and Winning the Game. No, they dont care if you're friendly, they dont want to high five you or play RPS. They don't want your sandvich of friendship. The only thing they want from you is your corpse on the ground or blown to bloody chunks. Be warned, these guys are very skilled and if you're a beginner, they'll make your life a living hell if you dont know what you're doing.

Now before you get your AK47s, AWPs, and SCARs and aim straight for my skull, hear me out. Not all Highlander players are complete and utter asshats. Some are actually rather nice and are ok with friendlies, just as long as they dont interfere in a semi-serious situation too much.

Pubstompers are...well...pretty much the same thing, however, they tend to be more jerkish than anything. Most of these kind i've seen will taunt after every kill, show off how better they are than you, and/or all that jazz. Long story short: They are born to ruin lives.

These War Pigs can be seen with almost any loadout, so it may be a little difficult to spot one of these War Pigs on the fly.
The "Strange/Unusual ♥♥♥♥♥" War Pig
*sigh* i'm gonna get some hate for this one, I just know it. Better get the aspirin for the upcoming headache.

these guys....I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate these guys. They kill, show off their unusual or strange item and gloat about it while saying you suck at the game for not having one. Yeah, what a real charmer, that guy is.(Sarcasm!). They think that having a Strange/unusual item makes them better at the game.

Fun Fact: it doesn't. It just shows that you made a terrible mistake by spending a ton of money on virtual items(....like I have any room to talk.)

Oh, and you don't want to know what happens if you insult their precious 'high-quality' item. While some will shrug it off and laugh, some will get pissed and hunt you down until you get dominated or you leave the server because "you don't like their favorite unusual effect."

In my opinion, to me: A Strange is just a weapon with a kill counter. Nothing too special. Also, I don"t give a crap for your "oh so amazing" unusual. I just don"t find them all that cool. However, it's fun to own a strange and name it, kinda gives the item a personal and unique feel to it(As long as the idea of the name or description is original).

Sure, I have a lot of stranges myself, but i dont go "I HAVE MORE STRANGES THAN YOU SO THAT MAKES YOU A *censored* and makes me a "Big Painis King" !!". It makes you look like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with no life and no good will and someone who REALLY needs to get their ego knocked down a peg.

...Do I even need to explain the loadout part? I think the section title speaks for itself. Full of Unusual and Strange Cosmetics, Weapons, and taunts.(sometimes they're both Strange AND Unusual).

Oh, and a quick note for all owner of strange weapons: Just be known that there's a chance that you'll be accused of "Strange Kill Farming on Trade/Silly Servers".
The "Friendly-Hating" War Pig
oh, i'm cracking my knuckles at this one.

These guys. Oh, these little hellspawn gremlins. They are the kind of war pigs you'll learn to hate IMMEDIATELY! They hate friendlies, hell, they hate anything 'friendly' in general, even Silly servers. They mainly come on a friendly server to ruin EVERYONE'S day! That's their sole purpose. They are generally despised all over the internet. To them, Friendly Servers are a waste of time and they think that they should be erased/shut down for good, or for free Strange Kills, while praising servers and communities like Skial for "teaching the world how TF2 is supposed to be played."

Some might even act friendly just so they can score a free kill, then run off.

In casual: They just ruin the fun for EVERYONE, even tryhards due to being extremely toxic. People congaing in 2fort? Better punish them with backstabs or bullets to the face. A hoovy in a corner giving free healing? Here's a crocket to the face in return. An A-Pose Civilian in the distance? another point for their glorious strange weapon and their ego. A trail of box spies and spycrabs? oh no no no, we can't have that! time to make some roasted french fries and taunt after killing.

if you spot one, find the server admin and report the bastard. They may even pose as a Free-2-Play (giving them a bad rep in the process), so be wary. No one, Not even the Tryhards, like this guy. They're out to ruin the fun for everyone and don't care about anyone else.
The "MvM" War Pig.
*guns being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the distance* Wait, Hear me out.

This is it's own special section because this is tagged towards players who's been playing Mann Up one too many times and starts taking Boot Camp just as seriously to the point of extreme toxicity. These War Pigs are Mann vs Machine Extremists/Perfectionists and will follow the 'MvM Meta' like it's one of the 10 Commandments. My advice to these guys: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chill! Boot Camp is made for practice and/or fun, technically. You don't need to go all "Sergeant Shout" on everyone, especially on a MvM Boot Camp server of all things. There's no real reward in boot camp like there is in Mann Up mode, anyways.

If you're inexperienced on how to play MvM, expect a votekick from this guy. Just pray that the other team has a sense of reason and vote no. If you're a sniper or spy who's had less than 10 tours, expect a vote kick. Got the wrong upgrades? Votekick. Don't have the 'requirement' optimal loadout because you don't have the required items? Votekick. Most of the time, though, he get's votekicked and then complains about how the MvM community is "Bad" and "doesn't know how to follow the MvM Meta."

So please, Calm down, Relax, and take things easy on Boot Camp. The TF2 Community will respect and love you for it.
.....
And don't even get me STARTED on anything involving Tacobot.tf-
The "Rager" War Pig
We've ALL dealt with this before.

this kind of War Pig usually starts when someone gets pissed at someone or everyone for not doing their job. Then they go "rage-class", specifically heavy, pyro, Soldier, or spy(Yes, Rage-Spy's a thing now, apparently), and they start killing everything and screaming in the mic because they're mad that someone got a cheeky kill and the medic wasn't there to keep his medibeam on his at all times, being the typical angry problem child that didn't get his way....god, I think my ears are still ringing. They are even harder to calm down. My advice is to just mute the rager and continue on. He'll eventually leave or (Rarely)calm down on his own.

These War Pigs usually appear when:

The person gets Dominated multiple times by the same other player, then that player taunts after dominating
The person keeps losing multiple times in a row in Casual and Competitive matches
The person gets ruthlessly insulted and teased by someone on either team.
The Person gets killed by a random crit.
The Person who gets killed by a spy abusing interpolation compensation.

Just the slightest of bad coincidences can just light up their rather short fuse and they will get PISSED.
The "Friendly" War Pig
...Yeah, you read that right. it's no joke, and no, you're not on weed or any drug. This is a real thing.

They will LITERALLY show nothing hostile.....that is, until you kill them, in which case they will complain and rage in text chat(or voice chat if alltalk is enabled) about you "killing them in Cold Blood". The most common type is the Hoovy or Lazygineer, especially if they have the Kazotsky Kick or Conga. They are passive and non-hostile, unless provoked, and will try to make a friend out of you, but if you even so far as to land a stray bullet on them, intentionally or not, be prepared to be called out as a Friendly Killer and raged at. While not a bad case in the usual sense(they're best at home in Silly Servers), they can pose a problem in a serious environment. In that case, the best thing to do is just kick them or at best, try to convince them to do the objective(which will not always work)

Loadout: the Typical Loadout seen on a Hoovy or other friendly player.
The 50/50 Rule Video (Provided by Soundsmith)
Quick Disclaimer: Soundsmith made the Video, Not me. I just put it here because he brings up some valid points for each side.

Now now, I hear you in the distance. "How do I, a normal casual player, not be flagged as a War Pig in a casual game."

I'd go into speculations, but I'm just gonna bring up this video here because this guy explains it better than I could:
Conclusion
Well, considering this guide is a WiP, I'm always looking for more kinds of Tryhards to add to this guide. If you know any more kinds or want to ask some questions, leave a comment in the comment section below. And as always, thanks for reading.

Goodbye and happy gaming!

if you want to dance around i recommend you playing just dance instead of ranting about people who kill you in a FPS

some of those more fit into the categories already here.

"sometimes they take off their hats or put gibuses on purpose while they have tons of stuff in their inventory."

Troll Tryhard right there. They act stupid or noobish when in reality they are some seriously great players to catch people off guard.

But the nicknames you put up gives me an idea..
Turbo 16. jan. 2016 kl. 7:07
Okay, here's a REALLY good one and it's IMPOSSIBLE to dodge, because it's everywhere.

Tryhards with edgy/simple names.

You go up to a pub and see someone in the scoreboard named "Spaghett", you know this guy is a tryhard, and sometimes they take off their hats or put gibuses on purpose while they have tons of stuff in their inventory.

Also sometimes you can spot their names referencing weapons or classes they are tryharding as.

"Boks" - Black Box + Concheror
"Scattey" - Scattergun Scout
"DaRektHit" - Direct Hit obviously

Ok, so I got a couple of private comments asking about why I haven't added a "Different Region/ Not English" tryhard. Here's why:

I just dont see the point adding it. I'm making it sweet and simple to the point, and last time if I checked, TF2 is international.

Anyways, a new page is being added soon. What's it called, you asked? Well, i'll leave you with this:

One. Rage.

to be honest, i barely need to even deal with troll tryhards since i literally am one of the best at "counter-burning"
Krosis Priest 9. okt. 2014 kl. 14:09
I'll be the "bad cop" here: Hetzer, you're an annoying dick. And no, you're not good at "burns".
