Unturned starter guide

This guide will explain to noobies the basics of survival so you dont get mauled by the 50 zombie congo line you probably have following you,

Food

In unturned the food and water bar is reversed so dont get worried or confused. Another thing to know is that the food bars go down a considerable rate so keep an eye on it at all times! Some places to find loot but arent limited to: cafe's,Pizza places,Military barracks, and all houses will spawn food. Alot of food you encounter will be moldy, it increases the radiation bar. Vitamins and Medicine will cure your radiation. Moldy food is quite common so in a pinch you can eat moldy food most will add 25% radiations or lower. If you have vitamens on you, you can take the medicine after consuming the spoiled food. OK, Time for the long term stuff. Farming is a good way of food. After you have a decent farm setup, you will practically always have food to spare. But of course it requires a place to plant it. Get seeds by finding it in the botantist building or by breaking down moldy food in the crafting section. you need fertile soil to plant it. Clear clean grass will do, the farmers field is always a great place to put it. But the greenhouse platform is probably the best since it can be place into a secure base. Of course you can put fences around a platfrom, which is just as effective but also take note that the traps can instantly kill you! If you are back peddling zombies or just tending to your farm you can accidently hit the fence and theres no 2nd chance. Hunting is probably the next best thing. The animal pelts can make a backpack. Throw some pelts with a bit of duct tape and you've just made a new backpack! It also makes some clothes which i think is very classy. The meat can be cooked by a fire. To make a campfire simple put 4 sticks and 4 stones in the crafting table.
Then when lit you can cook your meat. Cooked venison and bacon will restore 35% of your hunger.
Headshots to zombies also applies over to animals but its a bit harder since they will usually have their back turned away from you. But in the end you dont have an empty stomach.

Weapons

Like most zombie games, unturned will throw dangerous obsticales at you. You need to be able to protect yourself! All the melee weapons will do, but the absolute best is the katana. Though rare, a katana is a force to be reckoned with. Its also worth upgrading the 'warrior' stat. My character has full warrior stats and a katana. I can one-shot military zombies with one power strike to the head! Tell me thats not OP. Of course you wont spawn with full warrior or wont find a katana straight off. When fighting zombies you can circle round the target and smack it over and over. Or you can simply back peddle. You will find that melee weapons are more powerful than any ranged weapon if you handle it right. They dont need ammo. They can alot of damage. They are noiseless. And they are everywhere! However, if you dont have one and there not spawning near you use the shadows to your advantage. Stealth is quite easy. X to crouch and Z to prone. Use X when you see a zombie and Z when you dangerously close. It takes getting used to. But use the stealth to find weapons! The best GUN in my oppinion is a modified maplestrike. A maplestrike with a drum magazine,Suppressor, and any optic to your choice can make one mean weapon! But remember aim for the head!

Transportation

In any zombie game its best to know your surroundings. So when the threat arises you know where to hide, Where to take cover, Or where is the exit? In unturned this is especially important for looters.
Guns,Ammo,Explosives all spawn at the military base and military outposts. Food and water spawns practically everywhere. Gasoline spawns near gas pumps and mechanic shops. But like hunger, the gas goes out really fast! You can refill cars with gas cans and refill the gas cans at the gas pumps. You can repeat this process over and over. Over the waters are some small islands they spawn good loot! One of these islands have a overrun survivor base. It has a bunker inside which spawns guns and ammo. Backpacks can spawn commonly there too, but dont count on it.

People

This section only applies to multiplayer. Like most zombie games, ALOT of people have the same "Shoot on sight" mentality. Guns in unturned can kill in seconds! If my pre-mentioned katana can one shot zombies, who says it cant oneshot you? Shotguns can oneshot close up, Mahchine guns are incredible, and sniper rifles are on a whole new level. All these weapons (including melees) will make you bleed. Something zombies never seem to be able to do. So in multiplater bandages are much more important. If you see a player (especially if you arent very gears) Its best to hide from them because they will most likely try to kill you for your loot! And to those who DO shoot on sight, they are just noobs. They dont know how to play the game any other way which makes them noobs. I wish it wasnt a massive Deathmatch but its the way it is half the time. The other half is in PVE mode where players cant hurt you. But they can always find a way. Such as traps, or destroying your base, or leading hordes of zombies right to you. You cant stop trolls so its best to know if theres a reliable admin, or Youre the one hosting. Of course you can play co-op with a friend where you KNOW you can trust him. Which is extremly valuable to have strenght in numbers.

Review
