Description

This mod is built around keeping your data safe, and secure. With Save Manager, you will not have to worry about your save files when switching versions of the game.

Please make sure you have per version saving enabled in the Remix option, or your saves wont be protected by the mod.

Compatible versions
1.9.07b, 1.9.1x

Not yet designed to work with version 1.5 or earlier. I want to get a 1.5 build working eventually.

Features:

- Per Version Saving

Down-patch or up-patch without worrying about your save states. Using this mod is essentially like locking your saves in a vault protecting the game from overwriting then for reasons such as incompatibility between versions.

- On-Demand Save Backups

Create a save backup whenever you want through the mod Remix menu.

- Save Restoration

Don't like what the game did to your save file and have a backup available? This mod allows you to hot reload the most recent save backup. Want to switch back? Simple! Hit the Restore from Backup button a second time to load back the current save files.

HOW TO USE

- Per version saving is disabled by default. Make sure to enable the option before switching between incompatible versions of the game.

- IMPORTANT: You should always load the mod in the version of the game you want a version save backup for. DO NOT change the version of the game before doing this first.

- Your save data is managed in Rain World's persistent data folder. On Windows machines, that directory can be found here "AppData\LocalLow\VideoCult\Rain World". The mod maintains your data within the backup subfolder.

The mod backs up your saves by moving them to a subfolder. There are protections to make it difficult to put the game in a state where the current save data is not properly restored on game load. For the situation that it happens, your save data is not lost, the backups are stored in your permanent data folder for Rain World.

As long as you don't tamper with that folder, your saves are fine, just may be inaccessible by the game. You should not continue playing on a desynced save progression as the mod will overwrite the most recent backup if you close the game. There is a second backup copy that you can still recover from if that were to happen as long as you take measures to restore from the desynced state in a timely manner. You can use the restore button to correct a desync if it were to happen.

You can also choose to create a tamper proof backup of all the save slots by using the backup button. If you're worried about your save integrity, I would hit that every now and then.
