A salary cap of 2,8 million has been added to the Bundesliga to attempt to stop Bayern's dominance and to make the rest of the league more competitive.

The prize money for lower table teams has been drastically increased in an attempt to strengthen the periphery of the league. The reason why pretty much every club in the league gets over 100 million euros at the end of the season is because the Bundesliga opts for a prize money approach instead of TV rights money like the rest of the top 5 leagues.

In my tests, Bayern gets dethroned a couple of years in and teams like Leipzig and Dortmund start winning titles as well as more odd teams.
