The Venom Gun (M60)

The Venom Gun from Return to Castle Wolfenstein (using the RealRTCW model), ported to the Source Engine by Nightstalker and fixed to work for Left 4 Dead 2 by me! Enjoyy (Pictures/video taken w/ viewmodel fov of 60).

Note: This mod DOES NOT add reserve ammo to the M60. You must download a separate mod to do that. I personally use this mod.

• Like the other mods, I didn't make HUD images cause I don't have time to do so.
  
• The barrel wind down sounds a bit weird on the scriptless version (this one). It's because the default fire sound has the barrel wind down sound baked into it. There's nothing I can do to fix it (but it IS fixed on the scripted version, more info in the notes on that mod's page). I initially thought of making an alt version that required sound cache rebuilding so that I could have extra sound files to work with (by just using 1 sound file for the entire reload sound). The idea then would have been to split the fire sound into 2 files, and thus have the 2nd half of the fire sound play later in the fire animation, making it essentially only play once you stop firing. But when I tried it, the sounds were still broken, despite me rebuilding & updating the sound cache. I had no idea what was going wrong and so I scrapped that idea.
  
• My previous 3 RTCW mods (perspective-wise) don't look exactly the same as they do in RTCW (or RealRTCW) itself. I just assumed I wasn't getting the positioning perfect and thus decided to leave them how they were if they were good enough. I've come to realize just from randomly thinking that the reason my mod versions looked a bit more squished horizontally is because the viewmodel fov in RTCW is a lot higher than what most people will have their viewmodel FOVs set to in L4D2. With this revelation in mind, I decided to stretch the Venom Gun's viewmodel horizontally to make up for L4D2's lower viewmodel fov. It still appears a little bit more squished than its RTCW counterpart, but it does alleviate that issue a bit.
  
• I initially tried porting the Venom Gun from RTCW myself, but for some reason, the rotation values on each anim were (I think??) completely reversed, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to unreverse them, so I gave up and used the anims Nightstalker had already ported to the Source Engine.
  
• I removed the Wolfenstein logos from the Venom Gun because, in my mind, this would be a Venom Gun created by the U.S. after they stole the Venom Gun project book, and I'm 2000% sure they wouldn't leave those logos on it.
  
• Because I like consistency sometimes, I tried to make it so that the Venom Gun in this mod 'appears' to shoot fast, when really the fire sound just has multiple bursts in its single file. I also made the model itself spit out extra casing despite technically only shooting one bullet. I did this so that the Venom Gun still looks & feels like its RTCW counterpart without it actually behaving like it gameplay-wise.

You're free to request things if you want, but there's a very low likelihood I'll actually pursue your idea. I'll only do requests I like, but even then, I'm quite busy these days. I'm also not going to respond to requests because I don't want to get people's hopes up, then not do it.

As long as it's not just a straight up reupload, you're free to take the addon, change anything you want, and reupload it. You're also free to reupload it without changing anything if you're reuploading it anywhere OTHER than the Steam workshop. In either case, remember to credit everyone accordingly.

Anyway that's it. Unless you want a secret. In that case, tread to the second stop on a page where only sounds lie. Past modifications will show you the way.
