Nov 1st 2021 Update: Prices are not correct anymore with the relaunch. Many of these places are prime for making chips on the auction!

Reuploaded this guide in Dec. 2017. Any new players looking at this, the prices and demand for items/drops from bosses are very scarce. There are few collectors looking for most of the items in this guide since the community is so small now.

I'm working on finishing this guide, still a lot to research, excited for the end product.
:)

After years of playing, and tons of help, I've made this guide for those seeking knowlege on the bosses and rare serendipity mobs of the wastes. This is more so a collection of my favorite drops. If you'd like a full list of boss drops please visit this[fallenearth.wikia.com]
: Bosses :
Bosses are primarily farmed for 4 things;
  • Crafting Materials
  • Keys
  • Rare Drops
  • and Fastener Boxes

I've farmed many bosses, so i'll save you the trouble of deciding what's worth farming and what's not. Below I've listed some bosses, how many times I've killed them, how many items they dropped, etc. I left out all trash items, unimportant mats, and low quality consumables. This right now is my current tracked list of bosses I've killed. Ive killed more than listed but wanted to give you an idea about drops;

Huge Scorpion (Boss)
Kills: 50

Pale One (Boss) [Tannerfield]

3 Box of Scrap Fasteners (kill 1, 5, 6)

Glusharg the Earth Reaper (Boss)
Kills: 7

4 Box of Scrap Fasteners (kill 2, 4, 5, 6)
: Keys :
Keys are an extremely easy way to obtain chips if luck is in your favor. The boxes to open them drop quite often, and usually give good loot. The bosses can be easy to defeat only if you can handle their tougher defence, attack, and higher HP. It can definatly pay off in the end!

The order of key drops are;
  • Green (common)
  • Blue (semi-common)
  • Red (rare)
  • Yellow (insanely-rare)
**Notice** Green and Blue boxes have a high chance of not giving a piece of gear, you've been warned!
and the boxes are;
  • Green (Requires a green key, gives tradeskill materials and 1 cosmetic / serendipity)
  • Blue (Requires a blue key, gives tradeskill materials and 1 cosmetic / serendipity)
  • Red (Requires a red key, gives tradeskill materials and 1 cosmetic / serendipity)
  • Dusty (Requires a red key, gives tradeskill materials and 1 western themed cosmetic)
  • Black (Requires a red key, gives tradeskill materials and 1 cosmetic / serendipity, and a chance at a cosmetic dome car)
  • Yellow (Requires a yellow key, gives 1 pet)

Big Bertha
[Shoutout to Legendaryarmy for all the help.] <3
Northwest of Boneclaw is a level 5 boss known as 'Big Bertha', She's a (Master) tier boss, which most ingame are more challenging when compared to regular (Boss)'es. Every Boss has a very small chance to drop a key.They're very uncommong to obtain without buying them off the marketplace, so this method is an extremely easy way of gaining profit.

Toro Bend Mutant Bunker
The mutant bunker north of Trumbull has quite the varity of bosses. In the last room, there's 3 floors of bosses, (I'm guessing around 15-30 bosses in that one room?) These bosses have an average key drop rate, but since there's so many, you have increased your chances for a key.

Mutant Bunker Coords:

Tannerfield Pale One's
In a cavern near the town of tannerfield S3, theres a group of cultists and their masters known as the pale ones (Dont get confused with the S2 or Deadfall Variants). About a dozen of these bosses in the cave, and have a very good key drop rate. They also have a chance to spawn the serendipity mob "Elder Pale One" for the Gelder 1h melee weapon. I wouldn't suggest heading here before level 40-45, they can be tough enemies.
: Fastener Boxes :
Fasteners are important for any crafter, and can only be bought from a merchant, or found in one of these boxes. In this section, I list the ways to get the boxes in the most plentiful quantities.

Harbinger Isiah Pho (Scrap Fasteners)
[Shoutout to Doug Rattman for all the help] :)
This level 12 boss is found at the warehouse entrance in pinkston. In my experience, he has a pretty average key drop rate, but that's not what hes known for. His drop rate for boxes is significantly high. He does have a 1:30-2:00 min respawn however. These boxes average anywhere from 20-50B per box, and considering his higher drop rate, it makes for quite a profit. He also drops tons of tradeskills each kill (between 5-10 different tradeskill materials each kill)

Harbinger's Coordinates:
4357296 4096911

Pale Ones and Mother Larissa (Salvaged Fasteners)
[Shoutout to Op Vigilante and Whywhy for all the help] :)
At the Catacombs, to the south of Barrett Manor lies Mother Larrissa and her army of undead Pale Ones and Cultists. These Pale Ones drop boxes of Salvaged Fasteners, that sell for a good bit on auction. (I have heard they have a good red key drop rate, but I've never gotten one off one of the Pales) It is wise you bring a team if you are under level 45, these guys definatly will put up a fight. and have major agro ranges. (The level 29 Pale Ones always drop a box) These boxes can go from 40B-3R on auction at times.

Catacomb Coordinates:
4276518 5177879

**Notice**
You must accept the quest "Their Darkened Shrines" from Jeremiah Underhill in the groundkeeper's house outside the Catacomb walls to be able to enter the Catacombs.
Mother Larrissa's tomb is the first one straight ahead as soon as you enter the gates.

The Cult of the Dead Master (Common Fasteners)
Cult of the Dead Master is a level 40 boss that drops Boxes of Common Fasteners. He has a spawn time long enough to annoy you, but not long enough to be considered long (2:00-4:00 mins). His agro range is insane, so be ready to fight if you want to go closer to him. He also isn't too tough, just be sure to wear some armor your level.

Cult of the Dead Master's Coordinates:
6038708 5432274

Common Fasteners can also be found in large quantities from the Unknowns Event in Outpost
: Serendipity Drops :
Serendipity Drops come from rare enemies in a specific area. The items from these hostiles can fetch a high price at auction. It has not been shown for any process but killing nearby enemies to increase the chances for these rare mobs to spawn. Very little is known about these drops, and the possibility of unknown drops linger above my head. Most/All known Serendipity Drops are dropped from a (Veteran) tier enemy.
You can find a complete list of all known serendipities here[fallenearth.wikia.com].

In my experience, here's some of the Serendipity Drops i've had good luck with, and prefer.

Crimson Mask
The Crimson Mask, a favored mask among the wastelanders of the Plateau and beyond. Found in Reyes Mine #4, north of Watchtower along the right of the road. It seems to spawn throughout the mine at random, (a few times i've had it spawn in the very front and back of the mine) and spawn points seem to be random at that.

The Solution
Simply the best pistols in slot until level 15. Can spawn anywhere in the city of Old Kingman, including Kingman Prison, and Serpentarium. Heavy Weapons or any area attack suggested.

Serpentarium:

Prison:

Protective Construction Vest
Dropped by the Union Lawmaker veteran in Last Stop, (also home to some other good drops) this to me seems to be one of the most common serendipities. Any time I run through last stop I end up finding one, and It's a fairly decent chestpiece for its level. This enemy can spawn anywhere the Union Workers spawn.

Blight Wolf Tail
Very good early heath and gamma regen trinket, since it has no stat or level requirements
BWT is the only known item that is a serendipity drop, while also being a boss drop. It can be obtained in 2 different areas in deadfall, and also from Slaith. in deadfall, It's dropped by Blight Wolf Omega, but not to be confused with the nearby Blight Wolf Alpha's (Veteran).

EDIT: As of patch 3.4, all serenditpity drops are easier to obtain!
