Kuopio - Inhabited Map

Descriere
Kuopio - A Detailed Inhabited Map

Kuopio is a map inspired by the rough lake topography of Finland, combined with the mountains of Sweden. It features three main landmasses separated by an island-filled water channel, with shorelines that boast many inlets and bays. To the northeast is a small mountainrange with steep slopes - you'll need cablecars to reach the ore veins here! Centrally and southeasterly (is that a word?), there is plenty of flat land and gentle hills to build a vast metropolis. To the north is scenic forests and a lake that would make a creat tourist spot. In the south, there is a large city split between your Republic and the West.
I wanted to make a map that encouraged the use of boats and ferries for goods/passengers, as well as cablecars. There are also some prebuilt buildings scattered around, such as train and road depots and gas stations that should make Realistic playthroughs get off the ground a little faster (especially pre-1950).

If you want to get rid of some of the prebuilt structures, press C + H + E simultaneously to enable cheat mode, or go into Game Settings and temporarily turn off Realistic Mode to bulldoze them with money.
I'll gladly make an uninhabited version if some people want it, and maybe a version with more mountains too?

Happy Republic building, Comrades!

Do you in fucking love with ocean views and you worship Poseidon? Do you identify your gender a freaking boat? Then you may consider giving this map a try. Because it has an amazing ocean view pretty much anywhere you can look. It also has a big custom house though, and by God, how fucking amazing does the custom house look on this map. It 's like a whole tiny little city, it looks perfect! I wish more map desginers would put this much love in this custom houses :D Like honestly it 's a really fun map, especially if your spirit is one with the ocean.

I downloaded so many maps that I wanted to write a short little review of all the ones that I find suitable for playing (if time allows it) to provide myself and others a better idea what to expect... I will share my opinion of what I think is worth playing both functionally and esthetically... I know opinions are subjective so please don't burn me at the stake for my sins.

Thanks for the info Sunshine, will fix that stuff when I get the chance! I'll also be making an uninhabited version soon.

I'm a big fan of your other map Metrovska. In fact, my most successful republic was built on that map. This one is visually stunning and not too heavy on the mods. I've been wanting on that has a good balance of land and water as well!

My only concern is that if you play with population, everywhere is automatically activated as soon as the game starts. Also, regarding the railway and prebuilt depots, there's a break in the line at Prietin on the way into Pushkino (see: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198941333278/screenshot/2433705655633767229/) that means you can't use the depots for purchasing locomotives etc., without a rail construction office. Not sure if that's intentional or an error?

Otherwise, a great map - well distributed resources, and aesthetically beautiful without overdoing things.
