DRAGONBORN REQUIRED

All mods in the Improved Artifacts Collection can be found on the Nexus [www.nexusmods.com]. Also included on the Nexus is a single merged version that includes all the mods in a single esp file.

Special thanks to Arcticia, who created the mesh for the Bloodskal Helmet
Many thanks to all those who have given a positive rating!

This mod is part of the Improved Artifacts Collection, which can be found at this link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=204157051

IMPORTANT: THIS MOD IS QUITE BUGGY THESE DAYS! I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING AN UPDATE WHICH I WILL RELEASE ON THE NEXUS, AND I WILL POST HERE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHEN THE NEW VERSION IS AVAILABLE. APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

Improved stats for the Bloodskal Blade, including a new enchantment that focuses on the Blade’s ability to manipulate magical energies in battle.

Adds a new set of armor, the Bloodskal Armor set, which can be found in Bloodskal Barrow.

WARNING: Some users have reported that this mod has broken their version of the Bloodskal Blade. I am working on an update to fix the problem. If you want this mod, I recommend downloading the less buggy nexus version. Furthermore, please ensure you have a viable save to fall back on if you need to uninstall the mod.

ORIGINAL STATS
Damage: 21 (equivalent to a Glass Greatsword)
Enchantment: Releases energy blast with power attacks that deals 30 damage.
Charge: 0/0 = Infinite [/h1]

NEW STATS
Damage: 21 (unchanged)
Enchantment: Inflicts X points of magical damage. Power attacks release energy blasts that inflict Y points of magical damage*.
Charge: 0/0 = Infinite (unchanged)

*Originally, the only magical damage that could be inflicted with the Bloodskal Blade was the energy blasts made with power attacks. This is no longer the case; the weapon’s enchantment now also inflicts contact damage. This contact damage is negated when power attacking, which is when the energy blast comes into play.

The energy blasts also have an increased range.

Though not included in the description, the Bloodskal Blade can also be used to generate a powerful ward that will protect you from spells and physical damage when blocking. This effect can be switched off using console commands (see the Customization section below for details).

It is also worth noting that the Blade now inflicts an additional 50% damage against the undead. This is because the Blade is made (at least partially) of silver, as revealed by its tempering recipe. The sword will also inflicts increased magical damage against the Dragon Priest, Zahkriisos, and energy blasts will always stagger him.

The Bloodskal Armor set can be found in the possession of a Reaver Lord in Bloodskal Barrow. This is accessed towards the end of the quest, “The Final Descent”, which is the quest in which you receive the Bloodskal Blade. However, you can acquire the Bloodskal Armor at any time, regardless of whether or not you have completed “The Final Descent”.

HELMET STATS
Armor (Light): 16.5 (equivalent to a Stalhrim Helmet)
Enchantment: Fortifies your Health by 15 points for each Bloodskal item you wear.

ARMOR STATS
Armor (Light): 39 (equivalent to Stalhrim Armor)
Enchantment: Reduces the Stamina cost of power attacks by 15% for each Bloodskal item you wear.

BRACER STATS
Armor (Light): 11.5 (equivalent to Stalhrim Bracers)
Enchantment: Two-handed attacks do 15% more damage for each Bloodskal item you wear.

BOOTS STATS
Armor (Light): 11.5 (equivalent to Stalhrim Boots)
Enchantment: Your Light Armor is 15% more effective for each Bloodskal item you wear.

It is also worth noting that, following a request, Heavy Armor variants of the Bloodskal Blade armor set are available. See the Customization section below for details on how to acquire these variants.

This mod has several customization options that can be adjusted through the use of console commands (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console_Commands). To use the commands, open up the console commands section and type: “Set A to B”, where A is the command name and B is a value. The commands and their effects are given below.

For those with SkyUI, all customization options can be adjusted through the use of an MCM menu.

BloodskalWard (Possible Values: 0 or 1)
Default: 1
When set to 1, the Bloodskal Blade will create a ward when blocking that increases your armor rating by 100 points and negates incoming spell damage. This ward will absorb the magicka of incoming spells if you have the Ward Absorb perk.

BloodskalEnchDamage (Possible Values: Any)
Default: 30
This is the amount of magical damage inflicted by the Bloodskal Blade’s enchantment.

BloodskalBlastDamage (Possible Values: Any)
Default: 50
This is the amount of magical damage inflicted by the Bloodskal Blade’s energy blasts.

BloodskalStaggerChance (Possible Values: anything between 0-100)
Default: 30
This is the chance the Bloodskal Blade’s energy blasts have of staggering the target.

BloodskalKnockdown (Possible Values: 0 or 1)
Default: 0
When set to 0, this effect is disabled. When set to 1, it is enabled. When enabled, the Bloodskal Blade’s energy blasts will knock down smaller targets instead of staggering them. The chance of this happening is still moderated by the BloodskalStaggerChance option above.

BloodskalArmorType (Possible Values: 0, 1 or 2)
Default: 0
When set to 2, any Light Armor version of the Bloodskal Armor you equip will be converted into the Heavy Armor version. When set to 1, any Heavy Armor version of the Bloodskal Armor you equip will be converted into the Light Armor version.

ResetBloodskalBlade (Possible Values: 0 or 1)
Default: 0
Setting this value to 1 will reset the Bloodskal Blade if you have it in your possession. This is useful for those who have found the Bloodskal Blade isn’t firing properly.

RedStalhrim (Possible Values: 0 or 1)
Default: 0
When set to 1, you can craft red Stalhrim light armor at a forge using Stalhrim and daedra hearts. You must have the Ebony Smithing perk to craft red Stalhrim, and you must have completed the quest, “A New Source of Stalhrim”. The ability to craft red Stalhrim armor, whilst not necessarily lore-breaking, is not particularly lore-friendly either, and for this reason this feature is initially disabled.

A small percentage of users may find that the Bloodskal Blade doesn’t immediately fire energy blasts. For most people, this can be fixed be dropping the weapon and then picking it up again. If this doesn’t work, you can try using the ResetBloodskalBlade option in the Customization section above. If this doesn’t work, then the problem is likely caused by conflicts with another mod or errors in the download, in which case there’s nothing I can do.

Does the Bloodskal Blade puzzle still work properly?
Yes. I have tested this mod thoroughly, and I can confirm it works properly with the puzzle in Raven Rock Mine.

Is the Bloodskal Armor set compatible with all races and genders?
Yes. I have tested the Armor, Gauntlets, Helmet and Boots with every race, both male and female.

The Bloodskal Blade isn’t shooting energy blasts…what’s the problem?
See the Known Bugs section above.

My question is, where is the Nexus link and which esp do I download?

Hey Zim, I love your mods and was wondering if youd ever make one for dragonbane, as the sword is kinda boring as is. If you were ever to look into it id also love Bolar's Oathblade getting some work too.

The mod used to be great, but since a few days ago it deactivated the enchantment on Bloodskal entirely and I had to delete all modfiles about it to fix it (Which wasn't as easy as it sounds, selectively emptying cache folders is a ridiculous effort)

Great, looking forward to coming home so I can try this, I was looking to make a Bloodskal Blade-based character build.
Hey, I have a question, I was thinking of making a custom perk meant to suit this playstyle. The idea I have is that the perk effect will be such that when I kill an opponent with whatever the bloodskal blade ranged energy blast counts as, WHILST I'm wielding a greatsword, I'll get a some temporary bonuses. Thus, it will insentience me to create this interesting play style where I blast enemies form afar with the sword. However, what exaclty should the conidition for this be? Does the energy blast of the sword count as spells? If I set it so that I get a bonus for killing foes with my spells, WHILST I'm also wielding a greatsword(thus meaning that killing enemies with normal spells won't have this effect, since the greatsword condition won't be met), would that have the intended effect when using the Bloodskal Blade?
Thanks to whoever answers this.

Do you think you could you could create a mod for the Spellbreaker that lets you change the Ward points just like this Bloodskal Blade mod?
