PvP Co-op multiplayer XCOM

This guide will tell you where to find opponents to play in the XCOM multiplayer mode.

Where can I find them?

Why is it worth playing on our server:

After clicking on the link, you will need to go to the topic #auto-roles and select the role of the xcom player.

What is required?

To play, you need :

1. Restore the multiplayer if you haven't already done so. It is possible to see how this is done here
   
2. Download [WOTC Modern Multiplayer Mod]
   
3. Have a full set of DLC or at least 3 of them are required (War of the Chosen, Alien Hunters, Shen's Last Gift)

Solving common problems when playing with a mod in multiplayer

Here is a list of common problems and ways to solve them:

1.How do I launch the mod?

Start the game, open “Mod launcher”

check the box next to “ModernMultiplayerMod".
Please note that all other modifications must be turned off.

2. I launched the mod, but no new content appeared.

Solution: Exit the game, open the modification menu as described in paragraph 1. Uncheck the “ModernMultiplayerMod", then click the "Update” button in the upper right corner, then check the box again. Then log in to the game.

3.The opponent has created a room, but I can't see him.

Solution: try to connect to your opponent via the steam invitation. If the game issues an error message due to a mismatch in the game version, see point 4

4. Mistake: inconsistencies in the game version.

Decision:
a) make sure that you and your opponent have turned off all modifications except "ModernMultiplayerMod". If not, turn them off.
b) make sure that you did not make changes to the configuration files of the game during the singplayer. If something has been changed, you will need to check the local game files and restore the multiplayer mode to the method described above
c) Make sure that Steam has automatically uploaded the latest mod update. To do this, log out of the game, go to the workshop in Modern Multiplayer Mod and re-subscribe to it.

To make sure which side of the problem is on, you can involve 3 players who will check whose two-player lobby he will see and with whom he can play.

5. The game crashes after a few moves, the timer at the beginning of the game is at 0000 and does not change for several minutes, units of one player are in shelters, and the other they are displayed without, etc.

Solution: Make sure your DLC list is completely the same. Any difference in the list of installed DLCs can cause the above problems.

Hi! The game freezes when you and your opponent have already met, did you start a fight or before that? I would recommend that you try to remove all DLC except War of the Chosen and try to play like this (Yes, you will not have a SPARK available for the game, but as a test it is acceptable). If there will be no departures, then it probably means that the steam could not install the DLS for one of you. After that, try to install all available DLCs again and play with them. even before performing the action described above, I would recommend trying to re-subscribe to the mod, maybe someone did not download the update.

My friend and I have exact same dlc and mod, but when we play multiplayer the game gets stuck after 4-5 turns. Either he or I cannot end out turn so we have to quit. Unmodded multiplayer works fine. Any ideas?
