The Problem
Okay, so I've spent the whole day trying to properly run the game on my Meta Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop and none of the Steam features actually work. After many hours searching for a solution online i noticed that most people still don't know how to run this game on Meta Quest with Steam features enabled (Controllers actually recognized as Oculus Touch Controllers, Play Time Tracking, Achievements, Cloud save and so on). So there you go!
Troubleshooting
You can actually run this game using Virtual Desktop, but I've noticed that it runs using a Oculus Runtime and does not start SteamVR with it. So controllers do work in VD if you start the game using the Games Tab, but none of the features of Steam do.



When you launch the game using SteamVR it actually uses the SteamVR Runtime that masses the game and nothing works, not even the controllers.



So you have to use Oculus Runtime to make the game natively recognize the controllers, right? The only way I found to use the Oculus Runtime is using Oculus Airlink. But this is gonna solve all of our problems.
The Solution
1. When setting up Oculus Airlink, there are two important options that you have to enable for this to work as it should. With the Oculus App open, go to Settings -> General and enable "Unknown Sources" and click on "Set Meta Quest Link as the active OpenXR Runtime" (sorry for the screenshots on portuguese)



2. Then go to Library (still inside Oculus app) and add the SteamVR and the Walking Dead Saints and Sinners Game.



3. Now just launch Airlink as you normally would and open SteamVR. Its best to make sure that SteamVR is using the Oculus Runtime as the actual runtime. To do this you can add a new windows of "SteamVR Settings" and go to OpenXR. The text "Current OpenXR Runtime" should be set to Oculus. If this says "SteamVR" close everything and redo the first step again to make sure that the Meta Quest Link is set as the default OpenXR Runtime.



4. Now you can just launch the game using the SteamVR interface.

You will notice that Steam overlay will not be visible anymore and the game will actually start using the Airlink interface, but since steam will still be running in the background, every steam feature will still be working in the background.
By doing this the controllers will be recognized as Oculus Touch and will work properly because the game is running using the Oculus Runtime, and the Steam will be the responsible for "calling" the game so it will be able to track played time, achievements, sync cloud save and everything else as it normally would.

Em resumo você só precisa baixar o Oculus Airlink no PC, setar ele como padrão (igual no print) e abrir ele no Quest e rodar o jogo pelo Airlink

Amigo eu comprei agora o Meta Quest, e fiquei muito confuso com os nomes que até pesquisei, e não encontrei esse tal de Oculus Runtime, pode me ajudar?

In ALVR u can change emulation mode to valve index and this works too
