As with everything, you change things at your OWN risk.
How to use borderless fullscreen window
  1. Hit [WINDOWSKEY]+R to open the RUN input window
  2. Copy the following into the run window and hit enter:
    %APPDATA%/Arrowhead/Gauntlet/user_settings.config
  3. A window will most likely pop up and ask you how to open .config files
    1. Choose app from installed/available list
    2. Choose Notepad or Editor
    3. UNCHECK the box to always open with this program
  4. In the opened Editor look for a line containing the following:
    borderless_fullscreen = false
  5. Change this line into:
    borderless_fullscreen = true
  6. Make sure you have fullscreen set to OFF like this:
    fullscreen = false
HELP I forgot to uncheck the box for "Always open with this program"
Don't worry as nothing bad has happened. Windows will from now on just always use the selected program to open .config files with.

There is two options if you really want to change this (usually not needed as .config files are not very common on windows):
  1. SHIFT+RIGHTCLICK a .config file and select "Open with..." to select another programm to always use
  2. Check your windows folder settings, found in each menu of an Explorer window and look for the Tab Extensions. In that extensive list there will be listed either .config or config. If you reall want to get it of it, remove the entry there but do NOT touch any other of the entries!

Eh.. well.. this guide is for Gauntlet.. not Undertale... so this most likely does not apply there. :)

Did you launch the game yet? File obviously doesn't exist prior to that...
And if they didn't change the system.. this guide was written when the game was "first" released on Steam.. They have patched some stuff... i for myself haven't launched the game since 24.09.2014 :D

I completely understand that is what your guide is about, but understand that if you are running on an older machine (I am) you can use a lower resolution set it to windowed mode then use WBG to set the window resolution. So wouldn't offering this alternative for people on lower end machine's be more helpful towards the community in the long run?

@AcidFlare
Well... because this Guide is about BORDERLESS FULLSCREEN MODE and not about "How to use different borderless window sizes"? :)
AcidFlare Oct 8, 2015 @ 8:37am
because this third party software is more then windowed borderless gaming, it can lock the mouse to the window just like regular fullscreen does, you can set specific resolutions and offset's. Why wouldn't you want to use something that gives you full control over the window size?
