Quake II ~ Complete Achievement guide

This Guide will help you learn how to collect all achievements in Quake II.

Quake II Achievements (Main Story)

The first nine Achievements are earned from completing the main story of Quake II. Simply start the main campaign and complete every level.


Establish Communications
Quake II: Establish a communication link to the command ship

Complete Unit 1: Base on any Difficulty

Destroy Strogg Logistical Train
Quake II: Destroy the Strogg logistical train and restore power to key warehouse components

Complete Unit 2: Warehouse on any Difficulty

Destroy Security Grid
Quake II: Enter the security pyramid and destroy the security grid protecting the industrial region

Complete Unit 3: Jail on any Difficulty

Navigate the Mines
Quake II: Navigate the mines to find a service entrance to the factory

Complete Unit 4: Mines on any Difficulty

Shut Down Processing Plant
Quake II: Shut down all machines in the Strogg processing plant

Complete Unit 5: Factory on any Difficulty

Destroy Strogg Main Reactor
Quake II: Infiltrate and destroy Strogg main reactor

Complete Unit 6: Power & Cooling on any Difficulty

Destroy the Big Gun
Quake II: Find and destroy the Strogg's planetary defense system, the Big Gun

Complete Unit 7: Big Gun on any Difficulty

Destroy Black Hole Generator
Quake II: Close main hangar bay door and destroy the Black Hole Generator

Complete Unit 8: Hangar on any Difficulty

Assassinate the Makron
Quake II: Neutralize Strogg leader's communicationsystem

Complete Unit 10: Boss on any Difficulty

Quake II: Call of the Machine

This achievement its achieved by completing the last level in Quake II: Call of the Machine

Disk Collector
Call of the Machine: Collect all six Data Discs and defeat the Strogg Creator

Complete Temple of the Creator on any Difficulty

Quake II: The Reckoning

This achievement is achieved by completing the last level of The Reckoning campaign

Destroy the Moon Base
The Reckoning: Infiltrate the Strogg Moon Base, and destroy the fleet

Complete Unit 6: Moon on any difficulty

Quake II: Ground Zero

This achievement is achieved by completing the final level in Quake II: Ground Zero

Anti-Gravity
Ground Zero: Find and eliminate the Strogg's great weapon, the Gravity Well

Complete Unit 5: Boss on any Difficulty

Quake II 64

This Achievement is rewarded for completing the last level of Quake II 64

Shut Down the Core
Quake II 64: Enter an alternate timeline, and destroy the Guardians

Complete Unit 6: Command Core on any Difficulty

Quake II Level Select and Other tips

Level Select
Quake II has a Built in Level Select that you can use to select and complete levels for achievements. This is most helpful for The Reckoning, Ground Zero, CotM, and 64 achievements as you don't need to complete any of the levels EXCEPT the last level for each of these campaigns.

You can access the Level Select by going to Single-player > Level Select, then you can select your desired level by selecting what campaign, and then what Unit/mission you want to complete.

From here you can start the level and earn your desired achievement.


Tips that might help
* Play the main campaign first, this will help you learn how to fight all enemies you will encounter
* Remember to use cover when fighting enemies, the enemies struggle to hit you and you can slowly lower their health without taking damage
* Try to kill all enemies as they appear, leaving them for later can put you in rough situations
* keep an eye on your ammo, try to use weaker guns like the Super shotgun and machine gun to save stronger ammo for tougher opponents
* If you get lost, remember to use your compass to point you in the direction of your next objective (Q + up)
* Remember to save the game, this helps you from being set back as far if you happen to die.
