De Envy
A simple guide to hopefully get you more fps, doesn't matter if you have a high end or low end system! No third party software required too!

Lets go!
Welcome to the (hopefully) only low spec optimization guide you will need for Overwatch 2!
To ensure you get the most out Overwatch 2, I've made this fairly easy guide to help you enhance your game performance and know your hardware limitations (maybe).
It doesn’t matter if you are a veteran Overwatch player or a casual quickplay enthusiast, getting a few more frames and having stable 1% lows is nice to have!
In the begi-
If you have anything between or above the minimum requirements you are already in a good spot!

BUT contrary to what the recommended requirements say you need ATLEAST 16 GBs of dedicated ram and an SSD. Since season 7, 8 GBs haven’t been enough, giving me stutters and requiring me to upgrade my fairly potato of a system.
Let’s take a look at my system specs:
• Intel i5 9400
• 16 GBs DDR4 Ram @2667 Mhz
• AMD RX580 8GB
• 240GB SSD
On paper it is more than enough to get 60 fps out of the game at 1080p, but I’ve had issues running the game at a stable framerate due to my old graphics card.

NOW let’s get into the juicy stuff!
Ingame Settings
We’ll start off with the in-game settings:
You can start out with setting overwatches default graphical preset to low.
Now you could keep everything as is or copy what my settings are but I’ll add some notes:
• If you have more than 4GBs of VRAM you can set texture quality to medium, or have 8GBs you can set texture quality to high, it didn’t impact my gameplay or performance that much
• Using AMD FSR helps to make the game look a bit better but your mileage may vary.
That’s step 1, see that wasn’t that hard!
Settings_v0.ini
Step 2!
Head over to
C:\Users\(your windows user name)\Documents\Overwatch\Settings

Open the Settings_v0.ini file using notepad and look for :
MaxAnisotropy
MaxEffectsAnisotropy
MaxExtraQualityAnisotropy
CTRL+F to open find in notepad to make life easier.
Now change all its values to 0.

If you are unable to find them, just add them by yourself under “LimitAspectRatio”
Now lets change some other stuff! (your mileage may vary with these changes)
Do these changes!
DesiredFrameRate = "300"
EffectsQuality = "1"
FrameRateCap = "600"
ModelQuality = "1"
PhysicsQuality = "1"
Use what I mentioned above to search for them!
Make sure to save the file before you close it!
Make it permanent
Now right click the .ini file, go into properties and make the file read only. Apply and close the prompt.

WARNING: you wont be able to save any ingame changes you do to your settings after u do this step! so make sure you have done everything u want to before you do this!

This should increase your fps somewhat and give a boost.

My system performance went up by around 100FPS from an average of 60 or less. And for some of my friends they also hit their 144hz monitor refreshrate limit! Which in my opinion is more than enough.

I won’t go into details with optimizing windows because there are already very good tutorials on Youtube which you can follow. And there is not much to be done either way.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF THIS DOESN'T WORK, delete your settings file and restart game, do your in game settings and do the entire guide once again, will work, idk why but the game sometimes refuses to work like its supposed to.

DesiredFrameRate = "300"
EffectsQuality = "1"
FrameRateCap = "600"
ModelQuality = "1"
PhysicsQuality = "1"

What a shitty tutorial, lol
You just edit the same settings from the game, but inside text file

I've noticed it has different results on different systems so, its a hit or miss, but mostly works for me and most of my friends, Its still easy enough to do it and check.
