How to shuffle skins in CS2

Have multiple skins for the same weapon? Here's how to play games with one of your skins picked at random!

Disclaimer

As of writing this, there is a bug that nullifies your choice to shuffle your skins while playing premier. I have found a workaround, so I recommend you follow this step-by-step guide.

Shuffle

(Note you have to do this individualy for every item type you want to be shuffled)

Let's use T knives as an example, but for whatever you want to shuffle the following will apply. Go to LOADOUT and remove any previous shuffle selections, remove any favorites tag you might have applied and select the default option, for knives this would be the default T knife model.







Then for all the knives you want to shuffle in between, right click on the skins and click on Add to Favorites for T.







Once you have added all the skins you want to shuffle to Favorites, right click on the default T knife model and select Shuffle Favorites. (Note this has to be done in the loadout slots and NOT the iteam icons that appear at the bottom of the loadout screen)












This should remove the default knife model as your selected play skin, and the shuffle function should now work even in premier.

I've tried
- Delete contents from the loadout.txt & shuffle.txt file to make everything back to default
- Re-add my skins in to Favorites
- Right click -> Shuffle on all the loadout slots

Still wont shuffle in Premier matches lol and still working in deatchmatches lol

Happy news! I believe I was able to recreate the bug that has been mentioned in the comments and found a fix! The guide has been updated according to the fix. Unfortunately Steam is not allowing me at the moment to add gifs to enhance the descriptiveness of the guide, but I will add them as soon as I am able.

I tried reinstalled the game but it still doesnt work in Premier & Competitive matches :(

, lol yes, I have notice this to and it is very annoying, especially the queue thing. However for premier, not allowing skin changes mid game is understandable, since there will always be a sweaty tryhard that changes his loadout so he will be more camoflaged, now that he knows what map is being played. For competetive this makes no senes since you can just chose the map you want to play.

important to note is that it can only be done in the main menu; you can change skins in casual but not enable shuffle and competitive doesn't allow you to do anything, even during the queue. Because changing my M4 skin mid game gives me an unfair advantage i guess?

I have the same issue. Shuffle works in deathmatch but not in Competitive and Premier... Magic, have you resilved the issue on your side?

Magic⊥oи!, just tested the shuffle function on official valve servers and it works for me. Unfortunately, I could not find any similar problems posted online but if you are confident that you set it up correctly, my best guess is that there is a problem with getting the correct status of your loadout. A reinstall might fix the problem. Or the power of probability has worked against you.

Still doesn't work for me :D all set up correctly but the skin never changes. For Example 5 AK's in the shuffle and it is always the same. It only works when I connect to a communityserver. Official servers don't shuffle for me.

George, the skin/s selected out of your shuffle pool will be your play skins for the rest of the match. This means that the game can select the same skin multiple matches in a row.
