This guide was super-helpful . I am playing on a 16x9 4K display, and am using a Keyboard+Mouse, so I only followed sections 1-3. I initially had a bit of trouble since I mis-read which files went into which folders.
i.e., the Fix (from Part 1) has to be installed in (copied into) the System subfolder within the GameData folder, and the Remaster (from Part 2) has to be installed in (copied into) the GameData folder.
One item to update: Since the Remaster is now on Version 1.8 Beta 1, the ReShade mod is no longer included.
It is an optional extra, and can be downloaded separately:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/rc-reskin-remaster/addons/swrc-remaster-reshade
At this point, it's more of a personal preference. I chose to install it, per the recommendations of other folks.
The game is now much more playable on a modern system.
Im enjoying the remastered mod tho.
IMPORTANT: 1.7 AND BELOW ARE NOT FULLY WORKING ON INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS, TRY DISABLING SQUAD SHADOWS OR DELETE RESHADE IF THE GAME WONT LAUNCH USING INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS. (Not yet tested on Intel ARC GPU's)
So that's why the reshade file delete instruction is there.
