1 - Preparing your game for the Mods
First thing first, here's how your game gonna look like:

Gorgeous, isn't ?!

* Make sure your game is updated! After you download it from your steam library, run it to make sure that the games runs normally, if so, just exit and download the first mod below:

Link: https://github.com/SWRC-Modding/CT/releases

- Scroll down the page until u see "Assets" and click on " SWRCFix2.10.zip ".

- Open it using winrar or 7zip (pretty sure your pc already have it, but if not ,just google "winrar download" and install it)

- Copy EVERYTHING into the Games Folder, which is located at "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System"

Very easy so far, Now let's move on for the next step!
2 - Download and Install The Remaster MOD
We've just prepared our game, now the fun begins!

* Important Note: 1.7v and below are not fully working on INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS, TRY DISABLING SQUAD SHADOWS OR DELETE RESHADE if the game won't launch when using INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS. (Not yet tested on Intel ARC GPU's).

- Go to https://www.moddb.com/mods/rc-reskin-remaster/downloads/swrc-remaster-v17

And click on the RED BIG BUTTON to download it!

This mod was updated on February - 2024 so far, if you want to know more about it, just scroll down the page and read the description section **

- Now, Copy every fold EXCEPT Reshade Folder into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData

(If asked to replace, click on " Yes, Replace everything ").

-- Reshade Part --

First thing u need to know before install the Reshade Folder:

- LITE RESHADE - WORSE QUALITY, BEST PERFORMANCE. Recommended for integrated graphics.

- REGULAR RESHADE - BEST QUALITY, WORST PERFORMANCE. Recommended for basically everything else.

The installation step its basically the same for both options, but you can only choose one of it, I personally use the Regular Reshade.

- Open the Reshade Folder located on the "SWRC_Remaster.1.7z", it should look like this:

Choose one folder and open it! (like I said, i use the Regular Reshade)

Copy everything into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System

Notice that Now you CAN run it directly from your Steam Library, so open it and see if the game still runs normally, you sould see that the Main Menu changed a little bit, so let's move on to the final step!

3 - Final Step
Run the game DIRECT from your Steam Library

- Select your profile, Go to Options, SOUND and turn the 3D sound "ON", even if you're not using a headphone or a High End Speaker, and also put EAX on 3.0

Why ?! I don't know, just do it!

- MAKE SURE to Disbale FPS LIMIT or it might get a little "lag"

Now the game might be "updated" and perfect to play on 60, 75 FPS or higher, it also should fix the Mouse Sensibility!

- If you want additional mods like Ultrawide Resolution and Battle Droids Eyes Texture, just keep following the guide!
4 - Joystick Configuration!
First thing first, the method that I used for this may not be perfect but I didn't found any other configuration or "Mod" that is 100% Compatible with the mods mentioned on this guide, But I assure you, that you can use it to play with or without Big Picture, CAN DO ALMOST every action in game and even capture a screenshot if you're using a series S/X controller or simillar, so let's start!

1 Step:

Now that you're familiar with the game's files, go to
C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System"
Right-Click on System.ini, open it with Notepad or Notepad ++, search for "UseJoystick" and make sure it is equal to "True", if not, just erase "False" and write "True" instead, save and close it!

*If you're having problems to find "use joystick" line, just press Ctrl+F and type "use joy".

2 Step:

The fun part, connect your Joystick into your PC, (I'm using a Xbox Series Gamepad), open your steam library and runs the game!

In the menus, press Shift + Tab, it will open the Steam Overlay, Click on the Gamepad Icon at the bottom of the Screen and click on "Activate Entry" !

It will appears that the game now reconizes our gamepad, but it doesn't, yet!

.
Click on it (same area as the X in the screenshot), click on the "search icon" and type "Definitive", it should appears my personnal setup! To order your Squad Mates to Attack an enemy, Use Bacta etc, just aim at it and press Y or Triangle (on Gamepad)
.
.
Now, it's OPTIONAL, if you want to remap the buttons, click on Edit or If you want to change the sensibility, click and move the sensibility as you prefer!

.
If you want to give orders to your Squad mates such as "Form Up, Advance or Regroup", go into Options In-Game, Controlls and Change the imptus to 1 2 3 and 4, you'll see now that the Weapons will be marked as ??? i personally put them on F1, F2... since the RB/R1 on Gamepad will do the trick if I'll need to change weapons!

.
For the menu, just use your R Stick and click into the Options with RT/R2 buttom!
.

.
That's It, Enjoy!

5 - Ultrawide Mod + Battle Droid Eyes Texture (EXTRAS)
-- ULTRAWIDE MOD --

If you're using a Ultrawide Monitor just like me, follow this easy step to improve the visuals of the game.

- If you're using a 2560x1080 Monitor (21:9 aspect ratio) , go to:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/rc-reskin-remaster/addons/swrc-remaster-ultrawide-2560p-219-fix

- If you're using a 5120x1440 Monitor (32:9 aspect ratio) , go to:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/rc-reskin-remaster/addons/swrc-remaster-ultrawide-fix-5120p-329-fix

Download the mod by clicking on the BIG RED BUTTON.

Open it and you shall see 2 folders like this:

- Open the Static Mesh Folder and copy the file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\StaticMeshes

- Open the Textures Folder and copy the 2 files into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\Textures

just open the game and you're good to go, make sure to select your resolution in the in-game Options:

--- BATTLE DROID EYE ---
It replaces the Battle Droid's Eye texture, making it more realistic:

Go to https://www.moddb.com/mods/rc-reskin-remaster/addons/swrc-remaster-split-eye-droids

and download it!

Open it, open the Textures Folder and you should see only one file, copy it into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\Textures

.

Now you have the Perfect Remaster Mod so far installed into your SW Republic Commando!
if you guys have any doubt, feel free to write a comment down below!

Credits
I Do NOT own any mods, and also don't know how to make them, so all credits goes to its former creators Like TheMan20085 and leon-bckl

Also a Special thanks for everyone involved into MODDB community!
The only thing I did was to write a updated guide on how to install this mods since I didn't found it else where and also the Gamepad trick, since the x360ce didn't work for me... I'm also thinking about to make a video tutorial about this but anyway, hope you guys enjoy it.

FOR THE REPUBLIC!

I have a laptop that has an integrated gpu but also a dedicated nvidia card in it as well. The game crashes when I launch it from the steam library and when bumpmapping is on medium or high, and always if squad shadows is on. launching from CT.exe in the system folder fixes this, but how can I get steam to launch that?

Honestly someone should just make a gamepad mod like how BAD-AL did for battlefront 2.

Im enjoying the remastered mod tho.

For the Reskin remaster mod,

IMPORTANT: 1.7 AND BELOW ARE NOT FULLY WORKING ON INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS, TRY DISABLING SQUAD SHADOWS OR DELETE RESHADE IF THE GAME WONT LAUNCH USING INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS. (Not yet tested on Intel ARC GPU's)

So that's why the reshade file delete instruction is there.

Awesome!

I have a couple small problems:

1.) When ordering the squad to focus fire on a target the health bar doesn't show on the left side of the screen.

2.) At the end with the rocket turrets I can't see where to aim and fire on the ship. The turret sights are there, but I know you're supposed to aim at three different spots.

Playing at 1080p capped at 60fps with steps 1-3 and REGULAR Reshade installed.

Everything else is nice. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey friend, did you install the SWRC Fix 2.10 before the mod? it should fix the EAX audio, if not, try updating your Drivers.. I also search about it and it seems you can fix it with some "Alchemy App", but unfortunately, I don't understand about it... let me know if you find a way to fix it

EAX is greyed out on off for me, not sure how to fix that.
