• Hitman 3 released Jan 2021 -- new feature Escalations (escalating Contracts)
  (whereas Hitman 2 featured Contracts; and Hitman 1 featured Elusive Targets)

  ..reason: "Hitman 3 Deluxe" was EPIC Store exclusive since Jan 2021 for 1 year

• JAN 2023: Hitman 3 rebranded as Hitman: World of Assassination
  
  • Freelancer Mode -- FREE Update -- (ONLINE-only & NO SAVEGAME !!)
    ..basically Contracts-mode on drugs via long campaigns in persistant world (estate) ^^

iOi removed the "WoA: Deluxe Upgrade Pack" -bundle (05/2024). Meaning players not purchasing WoA:Deluxe Edition will buy the content separately (as in the past).

Nice to know:
You can access the HM2-Premium-Maps in FREELANCER mode and even level up, but it´s quite hard because Freelancer is similar to Contracts -- no SAVEGAME. If you die, it´s over...
(Therefore only suggested for veterans).

**Boobie Traps (avoid these!!)

 Don´t ever touch these trap choices. Both don´t give access to Freelancer + VR game modes.

• Hitman 3 DEMO (only Tutorial: ICA Training Facility)
  STEAM calls it at least what it is - a simple demo. EPIC store calls it "Starter Pack" ,which is misleading and gives you a good idea about the marketing iOi utilizes.
  
  
  • Note: TLDR.. This Hitman 3 Tutorial demo is pointless
    ..because it shows you NOTHING of Hitman 3 or now World of Assassination. You just play the Hitman 2016 Tutorial in Hitman 3 engine. Essentially you INSTALL the full game, BUT everything is locked.. !!
    
  • Note: Long version..
    Before WoA Update in Jan 2023, the Demo made sense because it allowed players to transition from HM2->HM3 without paying again for content you already owned.
    But with World of Assassination (incl. Freelancer) out and HM1+2 removed from Stores, the Demo is a showcase/techdemo at best to see how it runs on your system.
    Few players who never played Hitman before might even enjoy ICA facility.
    But most players finished HM1+2, so there is no point starting below "HM3:WoA"
  
  
• HITMAN World of Assassination Part One (only Hitman 2016):
  - 6 Iconic HITMAN 1 locations: Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado, Hokkaido
  - HITMAN GOTY content: Patient Zero Bonus campaign, 3 Escalation Contracts, some Outfits & Weapon rewards
  
  
  • Note: description states "..experience the six iconic locations from HITMAN (2016)"
    Imho, it only still exists to provide something ~30€ Pricetag as entry-option. But it´s not Hitman 3 maps or Hitman 3 features, and leads many players towards a bottom choice.. - which requires Upgrades.

• cannot import locations anymore
  
• cannot import formerly bought DLCs anymore

Still good to keep your Account XP, Unlocks and many Achievements..

F.A.Q. -Carryover-

Note: Carryover is about "Progression & Unlocks", since WoA released in Jan 2023 players who own HM1 + HM2 cannot save money anymore. Meaning nowadays you have to buy..
WoA (= HM1 goty; HM2; HM3) + HM2 Expansion AccessPass (=part of Deluxe pack) to enjoy HM1-3 Story with all maps !!


1. Be aware that Carryover is a one-time-thing AND platform-specific.
...only exception are players who moved HM2 (Steam) → HM3/WoA (Epic), they get one additional transfer for Steam.
But unterstand that you import your old HM2 (Steam) → HM3/WoA (Steam) ..meaning you won´t benefit from any Unlocks you made after Epic transfer.

-> Important!! ..make sure to import BEFORE playing HM3/WoA
Your current progress made in H3/WoA will be overwritten.. meaning you'll have to do everything you already did in H3/WoA (challenges, mastery, unlocks) again, after importing HM2 progress. 

2. Carryover from HM2 → HM3/WoA process includes:
Player profile + account XP, *challenge progress & unlocks, *Elusive Target suits
( location mastery levels & unlocks was removed with WoA Jan 2023)
* not all former progress will UNLOCK instantly, I cite iOi:

Note that there are a small amount of items/unlocks that are not carried over through this process,
either because they are linked to a purchase, e.g the suits unlocked through the HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition Escalations, or another related reason. Those items will be available in HITMAN 3 / World of Assassination when you redeem access to the associated content.

3. Full Carryover ended with World of Assassination (Jan 2023)
WoA changed the Hitman Franchise and condensed everything into a single live-service game.
This is also marked by Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 (2018) having been delisted from sale (no longer available as stand-alone titles).

• Carryover HM1 -> HM3 ?? - NO.
  
• Carryover HM1 -> HM2 ?? - Not anymore. (-> ended with WoA Jan 2023)
  ...HM1 had no direct transfer to HM2, but the legacy missions pack was FREE, if you owned HM1+2 on same account. But all this is past (-> ended with WoA Jan 2023)
  
• Carryover HM2 -> HM3 ?? - Only partially. (-> full transfer ended with WoA Jan 2023)
  ...You can still import your Account progress, so it´s a time-saver with some Unlocks/Achievements

Note: It´s impossible to transfer progression from HM3:WoA (Epic) → HM3:WoA (PC/Steam).

@Airbus Flyer: Just get WoA or (WoA:Part1 + Upgrade to WoA) - whatever is cheaper.
Then buy "Hitman2 ExpansionPass" additionally to enjoy Haven Resort + NewYork Bank (+ the sniper maps) to enjoy all maps.
-> Everything else is optional Online content (Escalations / Freelancer / Skins)
