Borchardt C-93

The Borchardt C-93 is a German semi-automatic pistol designed by Hugo Borchardt in 1893. The design is based upon the Maxim gun's toggle lock model. With about 3,100 examples produced, the Borchardt C-93 was the first mass-produced semi-automatic pistol. However, it was not very successful, since it was not adopted by any military. However, its design did heavily influence the inception of the much more successful Luger P08 pistol, and its 7.65x25mm cartridge was the basis of the Soviet 7.62x25 Tokarev cartridge.
