Introduction
The Secret Society an optional side-quest that can affect who gets elected mayor at the end of the game, as well as minor unique dialogue options. This guide is for those who are interested in the story.

Accept Doge's invitation to share your data. She will send a private message with the questions about halfway through E1, and you will receive your match near the end of E2. The person you are matched with will send a private message near the end of N1. Interact with the Somnodrome in N2. Your choice to use it or not is irrelevant. Continue to agree to work with whoever you are matched with, and they will accompany Mayor Hermanubis to the Expedition Site in Chapter IV. You cannot change who you are matched with. The "fifth friend" is not eligible. The following answers are just one variation; there are multiple variations to receive the same person.

Bonus: to get no one elected mayor, match with Jeremy, follow all the subsequent instructions, but choose to share the W2 Somnodrome data with everyone and say it has important truths to teach us.

Just a comment to Rand, if you want to get him elected as mayor, I found that the safer choice would be to tell Herman that "future cannot be built on a lie", instead of "myth strangling species" (that one pushes you more towards Byron).

God I hate Rand. Superstitious fool much too interested in other people's morals.

Also a worthy addition to this guide: what are each of the "secret phrases" from each of them, if any? I know of three:

Rand: Dark Satanic Mills . No use anywhere afaik.
Helga: Majestic Dashing Hamsters . Can be used at her shop.
Mysterious fifth person: Moral Compiler Disco . No use anywhere afaik. Can only be gotten under select circumstances (I think you just have to choose correctly while in the working Somnodrome, but there could be more to it as well ...).

Most useful TTP2 guide to date. I've always wondered how each person can become (or not become) mayor. Byron is by far the most obvious, second to Hermanubis, but the others are a little less obvious.
