Prisoners and Jailors

Description
Ransom, Offer or Demand Prisoners from other rulers in exchange for favors or gold.

These interactions are functionally similar to personally imprisoning the prisoners yourself — acting as a bridge to the tedium release/ransom-capture-imprisonment cycle. This action may incur penalties.

The prison's values are weighted by several factors derived from in-game values pertaining to hostile, vassal, and hostage interactions.

Prisoners of interest will be sold from one ruler to another for title stripping, forced marriages, or even recruitment. The AI will always seek prisoners they are at war with to capture.

Influence what's happening around you. Since imprisonment will be more penalizing, this mod now also allow Players to ransom anyone.

However, while they are intended to be balanced, do inform me if they seem 'unfair' or 'unrewarding'.

📝 What This Mod Does:
  • Includes everything the vanilla imprison interaction does, but affects both parties, since you are technically handing over a prisoner to another prison.
  • Gain opinion from the prisoner's war participants. (You are deciding the fate of their war)
  • Makes prisoners more valuable than simply releasing them.
  • You can now obtain any prisoners you want, provided that they'll accept.
  • You can now ransom anyone you want, provided that they'll accept.

What does the vanilla imprison interaction do?
  • You can only imprison vassals.
  • Gain Stress.
  • Rivalry escalates.
  • Gain negative opinion from the imprisoned vassal.
  • Gain negative opinion from their family and extended family.
  • Stops any scheme against the imprisoned vassal.
  • Breaks lover relationship (if the lover is the imprisoner).
  • Breaks ward or guardian relationship.
  • Lose Clan Unity (for Clan Government).

What if you do not have any imprisonment reasons?
  • Gain Dread.
  • Gain more stress.
  • Gain Tyranny.
  • Lose Legitimacy.
  • Lose Piety Level (if Head of Faith).
  • Retaliates into a war (if a faction member).
  • Lose more Clan Unity (for Clan Government).

What does the vanilla release prisoner interaction do?
  • May demand prisoner conversion.
  • May banish prisoner.
  • May recruit prisoner.
  • Can renounce claim.
  • May take vows.
  • May ransom.
  • Can gain a hook.
  • Can release for free (gain benefits).

  • This mod introduces additional opinion modifiers, thereby enhancing the dynamic of prisoner bartering interactions.

Travelers by pharaox
  • The 0.7.0+[github.com] update introduces a new special prisoner traveling mechanic. This mod allows prisoners to travel towards their new prison following a barter interaction, thus enhancing immersion.

Prisons of War by Stik'
  • This mod introduces a special mechanic wherein prisoners captured in battle are now held captive by Commanders until they reach a friendly territory.
  • I recommend using this mod only with Travelers installed, as it fixes some inherent issues with transferring prisoners held by a commander.

whenever a demand a prisoner it cancels my schemes like befriend or seduce, not to sure if its a bug or intended. thanks for the mod by the way, its great and now a must have. :steamhappy:

I was in an independence war and my ally captured the enemy war leader, it says I have 100% war score but I can't enforce my demands. I presume this is because my ally has him imprisoned, but when I try to demand the prisoner it has a -500 modifier saying he won't hand him over because he's at war with him. Basically makes ending the war impossible.

Yes it messes with schemes so be sure to get the prisoners you want before starting a long scheme.

Still works for me, but strangely whenever I demand a prisoner and it gets accepted, all of my schemes (personal, hostile, and political) get cancelled - does anyone else have this problem or know if there's a mod conflict?

@Gerousia Thanks for the answer. But in my case every ongoing scheme gets canceled even the ones against other people and not the one imprisoned. It doesnt matter which kind by the way. All of them just disappear (political, personal and hostile) :steamsad:
