Devil Mountain

The survivors find themselves trapped in the suburbs with Devil Mountain looming large in the distance, its emergency beacon activated. Is it a call for rescue, or a warning of danger? Climb the back of the beast and find out!

Devil Mountain is a sprawling Left 4 Dead 2 campaign set in a semi-rural mountainous region. It features five meticulously detailed Single Player/Co-op maps with diverse environments, clean layouts, and thoughtful pacing. Additionally, this download includes Survival game mode support for Chapter 1: Suburbs and Chapter 5: Summit.

Heh, yeah I guess it isn't the most evocative name for a campaign. It was originally called Mt. Diablo after the area its based on, but I decided to change it because I didn't want people assuming some connection to the Blizzard Diablo series of games.
Here's a picture of the real life summit: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/19/Mt_Diablo_Summit_Visitor_Center.JPG

Didnt expect much from a campaign called "Devil Mountain" but yeah, it surprised me, positively.

Pretty good campaign

Heyo thanks for the kind words, glad you found the campaign on here! I do have a rough concept for another L4D2 campaign, but I haven't started it yet, and I might never get around to it. Its definitely a lot of work, and I kind of feel like any future level design efforts should be on a more modern game. If there's ever a Left 4 Dead 3 you can absolutely expect to see something from me. Thanks again for thinking of my campaign when you were looking for your favorites!

Hey guy, I'm the reviewer from l4dmaps from like 2 years ago who gave you a raving review (the one with the Ellis cosplay). After quite a hiatus from L4D2, I'm slowly building back up my inventory of mods and campaigns to play the game again, like an old rusty veteran who isn't up to snuff but can still hold his own.

Anyway, my first order of business for campaigns is to locate the few that I feel are cream of the crop and download them. Glad to see you put Devil Mountain on here, because it was immediately on my mind. Instant download from me. I can't wait to replay it again!

On a side note - do you have any plans on ever making another campaign? I have to say that, while I would be fine with this being your only campaign (because it would be a campaign equivalent of a literary single writer wonder), I would be first in line to play any more campaigns you release.

A well polished campaign that has great views and screenshot worthy landscapes. Despite what other comments are saying, the spawn rate for the SI and commons seem to be normal and manageable. Ammo and weapon spawn rates were spread out at an appropiate rate as well.

The best part of the campaign would have to be going uphill towards the caves (chapter 3?). Also, I do think the rescue chopper does arrive a little quick. But overall, great campaign.

Do you have any other L4D2 addons installed? Not just mods, but other custom campaigns as well? I've had a couple people mention this and my only guess is that some other addon content is causing this to happen. Try disabling all other addons, restarting L4D2 and seeing if that works.
