Place to build base
A good place for a base does not at all have to mean flat terrain!

As you grow your base and its level you will unlock the option to create another base, use this to your advantage and divide responsibilities between them.

First one you create should contain iron & food
It is a good idea to settle near iron and coal deposits, if your own needs, you should also settle near other key resources.

Place like this below, contains deposits of metal we need non-stop, once you have found such a place it is time to settle down. Later you will also need carbon, it works on the same principle as with iron.
Psst! If you don't know where you can find it try here![palworld.gg]

Now that you have a place it's time to put up your base, set it up in such a place that the base circle covers the deposit completely. The ore next to character on screen is not covered entirely by the base area and so your slaves Pals won't mine it.

Great Pals for first planned base
You should have mnimally ten places to locate your cute little sweat-working friends

In order for the base to be self-sustaining at this stage (I'll quietly discuss having two bases later) we will need various creatures that take of tedious duties.

Our creatures have different categories of work they can undertake and the level of how efficiently they can do it - work suitability

1 Kindling
2 Watering
3 Planting
4 Generating Electricity
5 Handiwork
6 Gathering
7 Lumbering
8 Mining
9 Medicine Production
10 Cooling
11 Transporting
12 Farming

At the beginning, we can reject such things as electricity generation, drug production and cooling.
The most important things for us are logging, mining, gathering and handiwork.
We don't need cooling because it will take up the work of one creature indefinitely and item degradation only applies to one item in the stack.

Recommended creature set

You should be able to have a set of these creatures at around level 15-25.

Kindling - Bushi, Arsox, Wixen - if you don't have them stick to level 1 kindling like Foxparks.

Watering- Azurobe, Penking, Dumund - avoid level 1 watering Pals, it take to long for them.

Planting- Caprity, Tanzee, Mossanda, Dinossom - try to have multi suitabillity pals here, avoid only
planting pals.

Handiwork- Loupmoon, Lovander, Tanzee, Mossanda - use Loupmoon only if creating huge ammount of items like ammo etc. Otherwise use rest.

Gathering- Tanzee, Beegarde - Tanzee is good enough, this is last need like watering.

Lumbering- Mossanda, Dinossom, Bushi - if you base have trees in base area, cut them down and build structre over it. Use logging site.

Mining- Penking, Dumund, Tombat - use multi suit pals as ore take time to respawn, Tombat is good because it mine in night. This one is tricky. If you want your creatures to mine iron, you can't have Mining site or you must have enough work power to exceed it.

Transporting- Tanzee, Tombat, Mossanda, Penking, Bushi - most Pals can do it, so dont thinkg about it.

Farming- Beegarde, Caprity, Lamball, Vixy, Chikipi, Woolipop - choose the raw materials you will need, priority Caprity.

Base layout - general tips
Avoid building large bases that have complicated and narrow passages, our little friends do not have intelligence and a sense of space.

1. Try to keep utility areas such as crafting stations, excavations, and logging sites close to each other.
2. The more boxes the better! Place them right next to a station, a logging site, or a farm.
3. Sleeping outdoors or under a roof? There is no difference, if you decide on a roof, make sure the wall is high (twice up).
4. Place feedbox to farm and ranch if your ranch Pals create food. Build more than one.
5. The more empty space, the better.
6. Farms can be placed anywhere.
7. Don't forget about the hot jacuzzi!

My recommended set
This set will allow you to make the base self-sufficient and profitable
Bushi, Mossanda - Logging and extras.
Dumund, Penking - Mining and extras (one is must have as it have watering too).
Caprity - Planting and boosting berry production.
Tanzee x2 - jack of all trades.
Arsox - kindling and logging in free time.

It is only 8 pals who can handle it. If you want to prioritize certain things, you can manually assign a creature to a workplace.

Attention

Ore mined by pals have to be transported, you can do it yourself or use transporting Pals. Good one is Killamari - you can find him in dungeons.
Two bases, one target - cake.
After unlocking the ability to create a second base, do it immediately.

You can use the second base as a mobile fast travel point - create one somewhere in the wild and then use the map to destroy it, this way you will receive materials to build a new one.
However, I do not recommend this.

Create a second base that will focus on the thing you need.

And I guess you need sweet cake to grow this Anubis you read about, did I guess?
While our first base will be working hard for these metal ingots, the second one will focus on the farm, the cake farm.

Here I recommend finding a large and flat space!

To build your cake factory, you will need such a set

Two ranches, several grain and berry farms and beds... I guess that's it?
Yes. Thats all you need.
However, as you can see in the photo, I also added a wood farm and a breeding station.

My set (of 10) includes:
1. Caprity
2. Chikipi - eggs
3. Beegarde - honey
4. Mozzarina - milk
5. Mossanda - planting wheat
6. Azurobe - watering wheat
7. Tanzee - gathering/transporting
8. Tanzee - gathering/transporting
9. Pengullet - watering wheat and transporting.
10. -

Ten and more - fit for yourself. I use second Mozzarina and Lamballs for wool.

Due to lack of space and efficiency, this base does not contain fire creatures, you have to move goods manually. However, as you grow, you can add a kindling pal at level three who will make cake there.

Thanks for reading. Boguś.

@Axujen yes you are right.
Guide is aimed at 10 level base. When you can have 10 pals and 2 bases. This is just guide to what do to with second base. No one is stopping you to creating things you need.
I just saw many people don't have idea what to do with second base, so building "farm" or mining base is great option. :winter2019happyyul:

dedicating a single base for making cake is not necessary, eggs and milk are dirt cheap to buy and wheat is super easy to produce, you can have a ranch in your main base with a beegarde and it will produce more honey than you will ever need. a dedicated mining base is much better since you can make nails in excess and sell them to buy eggs/milk and even wheat if you want to make cake.
