So, Now What?

This guide is merely a "tiny" guide on how to fix and troubleshoot the game. When bugs occur.

Note: I'll add more, when I find more fixes. Plus, I'm not exactly the best troubleshooter. If what I found helps you, then good.

Don't forget to:

Verse - Minor
In this chapter, these cover the less gamebreaking bugs.

HP Bar

If ya don't see any HP bars all of a sudden, it just means that ya accidentally pressed the F8, which switched the UI off. Ya can also go to the menu's settings to toggle things.
Verse - The Screens
Changing Graphics Error

Sometimes when changing the graphic options, an error happens and gives messages, like "Data failed to save", gets softlocked on the saving screen and won't allow you to proceed with the hunt. Since it will fully lock at the starting screen.

There's a few things that causes this, like:

1) The anti-virus software mistakes the game as ransomware. To solve this, put the game in the "This software is safe" category.

2) Programs, like Google Drive, can cause this, if you're using it as a backed up. Try turning it off. Though this could happen if you set up a Microsoft user account instead of using local. Be aware that programs, like One Drive, is automatically set up.

3) The game bugs out, due to your Windows user name. Mainly because your name contains non-standard stuff (Tip: It's anything outside of a-z and 0-9), the only solution is to make a new Windows user ID.

Additional tip: Delete the file Documents\Bayonetta\system_data and have the game recreate it.

Fix:

Give Animoro credit/Points

1. Click on Start Menu,
2. Click on Settings,
3. Click on Accounts,
4. Select Family & other users,
5. Select Add someone else to this PC,
6. Ignore the prompt to provide an email or phone number. Instead click on the link at the bottom that reads The person I want to add doesn’t have an email address,
7. Ignore the information here prompting you to setup a new email address through the outlook e-mail and click the link that's at the bottom "Add A User" without a Microsoft account.

Miscellaneous Help

Video Link

This vid is one of the many tutorials on how to fix the white screen freeze that happens when trying to change the graphics.

No Anti-Virus

If you don't have any anti-virus software, but the graphics option bug still happens. Check to see, if the game's controlled folder access component that's preventing the game from saving in the documents folder.

To run the test, try opening it and turning it off, then try to run the game again. If it lets you save the settings, you're good. But if not, then its the problem, add the game to the whitelist.

(Saved games are not affected by this, since they're saved in the Steam user ID folder).

Starting Error

When starting the game, it only goes to the white scene momentarily and turns off quickly.

Fix:

Stakkato's Tip

1. Go to the folder where you installed Bayonetta.
2. Right-click the executable, and then select properties
3. Enter the properties and select Compatibility
4. Check the box in administrator mode
5. Choose Windows 98 / Windows me Compatible
6. If it doesn't work, switch to another window version and run it.

Check to see if the game is installed on the same hard drive where Steam is installed.
Verse - The Screens (Cont.)
"Out Of Range"

The "Out Of Range" bug occurs when the screen turns black and the titular message pops out.

Fixes:

Try to window-force the game by pressing Alt + Enter when this sort of screen pops out, then go and change the game's settings and change the resolution.
Verse - Story
Flickering Jeanne Flashback Bug

When battling Jeanne in the flashback, the screen flickers. - Mainly, making her to disappear and reappear quickly as if she learned a new fighting techniques.

To get her to stop, just change the display mode to borderless fullscreen.

Verse - Bugs
Scrolling Bug

Imagine playing the game, but when one tries to scroll in the menus, it goes haywire, like auto-scrolling to the bottom or the item menu spinning around. Even though you have the trackpad turn off or not using the mouse.

Fixes

One is to use the appropriate profile for the controller. One of the reasons why this glitch pops up is because, ya plugged the controller into a different USB port than the one that ya normally use.

Start the game without the mouse or controller plugged in, if it's still scrolling, re-install the game.

Disappearing Models

Sometimes, the models disappear, like npcs or foes are "invisible" but they're still there, or the game just crashes.

Fixes

To fix this, ya have to re-verify the game files on Steam.

But if you're using mods, relocate them outside of the game's folders. - Though backup your mods and make a list to remember those that ya own.

Reinstall the game.

Verse - Minor (Spoilers)
These are the minor bugs, but they happen in the chapters that are filled with spoilers.
