That issue is definitely not because of this mod. All this does is change the ideograms parent to the same one as altars and then adjusts the recipe accordingly.
That sounds like a conflict with another mod to me. Did you add this to a pre-existing save or is this a fresh game?
However, I dont know if i'm the only one but since i've installed your mod and build some ideogram with some materials (steel, gold, marble,...) the building is not recognized by any member of my ideology. A notification says "<Custom name> missing" (the name i've chosen for this run), and the building itself is called "Golden Symbol" or whatever material i've chosen to build it with.
I think that's probably the reason why the game doesnt recognize the two as the same building.
