♡ Xen Achievement Help ♡

For this guide I will be going over the Prolific Popper locations as well as the Missing Scientists plus some other achievements in Xen. This is an image heavy guide that will hopefully help some with their achievements. Please let me know if this helped and if I can do anything to improve. I tried to make this as simple to follow as possible as to not cause any confusion. Thank you sm for reading!!!!

Xen (#1-37)

Protozoan #1
First Protozoan you'll see next to a dead scientist. To kill the protozoan use your crowbar or a gun, they don't have much health so a crowbar smack will kill em' quick. Sadly the scientists before the Gonarchs Lair Chapter do not count towards the missing scientist achievement.

Protozoan #2
To your right but watch out, some headcrabs spawn in this spot.


Protozoan #3
Third Protozoan down in the large pit.


Protozoans #4-5
Together to the right in the area after the big healing pool.


Protozoans #6-7
To your right after getting out of the science facility area.


Protozoan #8
To your left.


Protozoans #9-11
Straight ahead from this point is the next three.


Protozoans #12-14
Off to the right after making that big jump to the leaf thing.


Protozoans #15-17
Near one of the amalgamation things you gotta shoot to activate the leaves. Mine where just in front but they may be up and to the right of the area.


Protozoans #18-25
In this area are the next eight.


Protozoan #26
Off to the right (in my crosshair).


Protozoan #27
This one's easy to miss, off to the side.


Protozoans #28-30
On the other side of a jump are the next three.


Protozoans #31-34
The next four are after a jump into the water.


Protozoan #35
In this area, it will most likely be under water, it floated over to me but you can kill it under water.

☆ From this point it will be a little while till we see our next Protozoan. Keep reading to see when they next ones are. ~


Protozoan #36
Also incredibly easy to miss, usually in between this spot of this awful area.

Protozoan #37
Also easy to miss, take the path upward towards where you came from and fight a Bullsquid and in the little area next to it is our next Protozoan. This will be the last Protozoan in the chapter Xen.

Gonarch's Lair (#38-59)

Protozoans #38-40
These three will appear soon after entering the lair.


Protozoan #41
The next one is on the other side of the explosive door.


☆ Gas Can Teleporter
In the area right after your 41st Protozoan is a little teleporter. If you have your gas can with you, you can send it to the end of the chapter and it will allow you to get through the secret area and up above the Gonarch fight Area. If you didn't feel like babysitting, you can use this code in the dev console (~)
" prop_physics_create props_questionableethics\qe_gas_cylinder.mdl; ent_setname gas " and it will give it to you. Send it through the teleporter and keep on trekking.


Protozoan #42
Off to the far right in this area.


Protozoan #43
After going under a crawl space.


Missing Scientist #1
You'll find them after Protozoan #43 in the same area, interact with "e" to count towards the achievement.


Protozoans #44-46
Near the healing pool next to a few bullsquids.


Missing Scientist #2
By a door that will explode on a timer so interact with them then back up.


Missing Scientist #3
On the ledge where you activate some explosives.


Protozoan #47
Up and to the right of this water area, almost right after the third scientist.


Protozoans #48-51
Down here before you jump down. Shoot them before jumping as there's a map change.


Missing Scientist #4
Hard to miss, just make sure to interact with them before proceeding.


Missing Scientist #5
Right when Gonarch Jumps down from this area, a small area will open up with a scientist in it, interact with them before booking it!!


Protozoans #52-54
Way up high in this area, you can use a longer range weapon to get them or work your way up as you add water to the area.


Protozoans #55-58
After this water area, there will be our next four.


Missing Scientist #6
In this small area next to Gonarch, interact with them before setting the place ablaze!


☆ Secret Area
If you brought your gas can with you or teleported it, this area should be open to you. Inside is the #59th Protozoan.


☆ Protozoan #59
Only if you brought the gas canister with you or teleported it in the beginning. Right before the boss fight, it will be in a secret area across from the ammo canister. This will be the last one for this chapter.

☆ Secret Achievements
If you go through the tunnel all the way you will see your gas can next a a machine that you can use to kill Gonarch awarding you with = The Plan or you can jump from the ledges and just leave awarding you with = Unquestionably Ethical


☆ Missing Scientist #7
Poor guy was impaled :< but this is our last missing scientist. You can only find them if you went through the secret area. And with that you should be awarded with the achievement "Post-Mortem Interval"

Interloper (#60-64)

Protozoans #60-64
The last few Protozoans are in this room.

And that's that! If you followed this guide then you'd *hopefully* gotten the achievements Prolific Popper and Post-Mortem Interval.

Note: I may add some other achievements to this as there's a few I got in Xen that were easier to get than in the non-Xen part of the game.

Honestly, the fact you have to interact with the "lost" scientists really grinds my gears.
Walking over them as in pick up range for their energy packs should also award you finding them for this achievement.
So dumb
