Description
What if Bungie had more time? That is the crucial question we are trying to answer. This is Halo CE Restored, a mod that fully restores all the cut content in Halo: Combat Evolved. This is content that was left behind during development and hinted at in various media such as beta builds and commercials. All cut content has been fully adapted to fit within the game world, essentially what it would look like if Bungie fully integrated these unused ideas.

You need both Halo CE campaign and multiplayer installed in order to play this mod.

THIS MOD IS A WORK IN PROGRESS! It will eventually feature every level.

Features:
- Single Player Campaign (with coop support)
- 1749 Beta Models
- Cut Dialogue
- Cut Combat Encounters
- Cut Enemies
- Cut Weapons
- Cut Sounds
- Cut Scenery

Levels:

The Silent Cartographer:
- A fully revamped beach clear incorporating a cut banshee and wraith
- Unused ghost and banshee encounters around the beach
- Cut engineers in the control rooms
- Multiple pieces of cut dialogue
- Cut enemy spawns
- Cut sequence with marines fighting near the crashed pelican
- Unused commands and animations for the gold elite behind the locked door
- Falling boxes in the final cutscene

Fortress World (Assault on the Control Room):
- Restored level name
- Unused banshee (easter egg) in the opening area
- Banshee path following and firing upon Fireteam Zulu's pelican
- Explosions on the bridge
- Dropships in the first exterior areas
- Destructible tank
- Tunnel door locked side objective forcing you to visit a pulse generator room
- Unused music track
- Flyable banshees all throughout the level
- Cut Dialogue and objectives all throughout the level

343 Guilty Spark:
- Marines fleeing with the covenant in the opening cutscene
- More flood sightings in the first swamp section
- Swamp section contains less fighting with dead bodies scattered around
- Cut assault rifles firing off in the distance (connected with the dead bodies)
- Cut suicidal marine death sequence (walk far enough away)
- Unique Elites with chest ripped open from the reveal cutscene (disappear after reveal)
- You can now return back to the suicidal marine room after flood reveal
- Cut broken lift sequence (required instead of optional)
- Extra sequence with marines fleeing (and locking) a door only for the flood to bust it down
- Cut section where the jackal-marine last stand used to be
- Multiple pieces of cut dialogue
- An unused licensed song for the reveal pelican scene
- Cut chapter titles and objectives
- Extra Spawns
- Unused music triggers

Current TODO Items:
- Add destroyed tank model
- Fix 1749 pulse gen hallway lights on Assault on the Control and Two Betrayals to match retail

How do you get the opening area banshee in AOTCR to spawn? I killed everything in the first room and got Cortana's "the covenant presence here is stronger than I anticipated" line, but when I backtrack there's no banshee

Loves me when cut content get restored. I've always thought it was odd that in some cases the cut content is nearly finished but it's usually just left there forever untouched. Kudos for fixing this stuff up and keep up the good work.

I'm having an issue where loading up the levels keeps loading forever?

I know the aim of this mod is to add cut content or restore the game back to the developer's original vision, but I'm curious to know if you'll be adding assets from other mods, such as the ODST from Ruby's Rebalanced mod, the grunt combat form from Halo Revolved, or even the cut weapons like the gravity gun or excavator.
