FIREFOX MIG-31 HTOWN

The MiG-31 (МиГ-31 in Cyrillic script), NATO reporting name "Firefox", is a fictional aircraft appearing in Craig Thomas' novels Firefox and Firefox Down, as well as the Clint Eastwood film based on the former.

So, we all know the the MiG 31 today as the Foxhound and resembles an entirely different aircraft altogether.
In the late 1970's this craft has been reported as real & existed at the time with two prototypes one destroyed in a hanger fire & one lost in a test flight.
