Description
Happy New Year!

Here we have the grand-daddy of E units, the EA and E1.

In 1937, EMC (the predecessor to EMD) built for Baltimore and Ohio the EA and EB locomotives. In the same year, they produced the E1 for ATSF. EA #52 went to Alton Railroad and became #100A in 1940 and became GM&O 100A after the merger in 1947.

Only one of these remain, #51 in Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum in Baltimore, MD on static display. The usable parts were removed by EMD when the locomotives were returned to them. #51 was the first EA produced.

Skins Included:
  • Generic, 1937
  • Baltimore and Ohio Prewar, 1937
  • Baltimore and Ohio Postwar, 1937
  • ATSF E1 Early, 1937
  • ATSF E1 Late, 1937
  • Alton RR, 1940
  • GM&O, 1947
  • CSX OCS version (Fantasy), 1980

Features:
  • Assets
  • 3 LODs
  • Custom Aging
  • Generic Units with labels based on the company name, and recolorable as well.
  • Random Numbers, all files are included for this
  • Vestibules stay connected via fake bogies, shout out to our friendly green dinosaur friend Yoshi for figuring that out!
  • Reverse units which are unmanned and unlit.
  • Lit items go unlit when not in position #1 in train
  • Plows are covered in first position, while opened with couplers in other positions.
  • Correct window placements for both the EA and E1, looking at you BLI
Note: Because of the random numbers, the units show up in the Multiple Unit category. I cannot fix this as its a game limitation from the random number system.

Specs
  • 40 year lifespan
  • 1800HP
  • 56,497lb/f Tractive Effort
  • ~116mph Top Speed
  • ~300,000lbs.

Special thanks to iNYC for visiting the B&O museum and getting all the cool shots of #51 for me! Youre the best man!

Thanks goes out to B&O Historical Society for the B&O font used, Pete Willard over at railsimstuff.com and the folks over at railfonts.com for the fonts. Couldn't have done it without you guys!

I truly hope you enjoy my mods! If you do, please consider making a contribution, as I am a family man and don't get a lot of free time!

Hello, I’m a big fan of your mods, especially the GTEL mod. I have a suggestion to improve it: could you break the GTEL train into three separate parts—Engine, B Unit, and Tender? This way, we could add just the engine, B unit, or tender individually. For realism, it would be great if the engine wouldn’t work alone and would require the tender, and vice versa for the B unit. Also, if only the engine or B unit is added, they should each have half the power and tractive effort of the full GTEL train, while maintaining the same speed. Lastly, I suggest that for every engine and B Unit or two b units, only one tender should be needed. I hope you’ll consider these changes. Thanks!

I'm more surprised CSX hasn't latched onto this for their OCS and just put sd40-2 engine or some shit in it
