How To Fix Social Club SDK Version 0.0.0.0 Problem
By Cyber Ortek
This guide will show you how to fix the damn train and the stupid Rockstar Game Launcher problem which indicates your SDK version is 0.0.0.0. I wrote this because there's no such a guide here (at least not in GTASADE community) and I believe I'm not the only one who had this problem. Funny thing is that I installed R* Game Launcher years ago and it worked perfectly fine. It just broke all of a sudden a few months ago. Well, at least mine did. Let's get to the damn train

What Your Problem Should Look Like
It's a fine day to update the R* launcher and face the painful update. But wait, something's not right...

Update it, of course. After a few confirms and flashes, this pops up:

"Now why would I expect it to fix itself?"

Follow That Train
First, remember to actually update it first. This doesn't fix the problem but it's a start.

Next, go to your C drive. Locate a folder named "Rockstar Games" under:
"C:\Program Files\"

Enter that folder. Copy the one and the only folder inside which is called "Social Club".
(something like this, as well as the current address:)

Paste the folder into [The location where you installed your Rockstar Game Launcher].
I believe the default location is:
"(C or other):\Program Files\Rockstar Games\"
If you still can't find it, uninstall the launcher and install it again to your designated location. Or maybe just search it.

Paste it right next to the "Launcher" folder. You will notice that your designated location does not have such a folder. Instead, only a "Launcher" folder will be present inside "Rockstar Games". It looks like this before you touch it:

After pasting the social club folder, start the Rock Star Game Launcher again and it should be working.
IMPORTANT NOTICE (If you still didn't fix it)
DO NOT touch ANOTHER 'Rockstar Games' folder inside:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\"
You may notice that this folder almost shares the same content but is somewhat larger than the one inside Program Files. If you copied this instead, you might get an "Install Incomplete" error or something similar. And do not combine these two folders together and copy them over your designated folder (yeah, smartass, talking to you). Just the one under:
"C:\Program Files\"

This whole 0.0.0.0 error is likely caused by not installing the game launcher to the C drive's default location. Note that the default location may actually change and it's not always under C drive. You can install that stupid launcher wherever you want actually. Just need to fix it according to this guide afterwards.

If you still get 0.0.0.0, unfortunately, you need to get a bit more technical. Check the log under:
"C:\Users\[your user name]\Documents\Rockstar Games\Launcher\"
Open the "launcher.log"
Look for this line:

You should notice that the launcher failed to read a file under a certain location. This location SHOULD be your designated install location. But in case it isn't, this is the place you need to copy and paste the "Social Club" folder to.

Remember, the only thing you need, is to get the "Social Club" folder under:
"C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\"
Copy it RIGHT NEXT TO the launcher folder which sits inside another Rockstar Games folder in the image above.

@b_iverson You might wanna submit a ticket to Rockstar support about this... I don't work for them so I dunno how to this error, sorry. It could be a lot of things, maybe your installed path contains characters that are not English, maybe you need a VPN, or maybe just ask R* support (or search internet) to give you an Launcher that does not need to update

I am told that the minimum SDK Version is 2.3.2.5 and when I try to update I get a different generic error saying "An error has occurred. Please restart the Rockstar Games Social Club Installer and try again. "

There are no error codes and I have tried installing on born C: and D:

I am on Win 10 and I have had GTAV installed and played previously on this machine.

Uninstall, update Windows, re-download, reinstall. I don't know much about code 4, someone from Reddit suggested this solution
