How to play as V2 (Challenge Run)

Wish there was a V2 mode? Look no further, in this guide i will offer you a way of playing the campaign while pretending you're in the shoes of V2.

UPDATE

People have started making V2 mods! You can find them on Thunderstore and install them with r2modman[thunderstore.io]. You can play with those mods, or use my vanilla-friendly route.

STEP 1

First off, unequip all your weapons except the Piercer and the Knuckleblaster. No, don't create a new save (because then you obviously don't have access to the Knuckleblaster).

STEP 2

Now, you are only allowed to unlock these, in order:

• Unlock the Shotgun as normal. Core Eject only.
  
  
• Optional: Instead of unlocking the Nailgun, you unlock the Sharpshooter. Not accurate, but atleast you get to use revolver swapping, which is similar to V2's triple revolver shot. You can also unequip it after getting the marksman, as you can revolver swap with that, too. You don't get the Nailgun here either way.
  
  
• When beating V2, you unlock the Marksman. No feedbacker.
  
  
• Instead of unlocking the Railcannon, you unlock the Overheat Nailgun. Overheat only.
  
  
• When beating Gabriel, you unlock the Whiplash.
  
  
• When beating V2(2), you unlock the Railcannon. Electric only. Still no feedbacker.
  
  
• When you get the Rocket Launcher, you can only use the S.R.S. Cannon (or atleast no rocket riding, as V2's normal plating would make him too heavy).
  
  
• No alternates.

nice, i think ill just rebrand this guide to a "how to play as v2 without mods" with a disclaimer at the start mentioning mods (or specifically the v2 one)

theres now actually a mod to play as v2. you can use the thunderstore mod 'play as v2' (i recommend using r2modman to launch it instead of the thunderstore mod manager, or anything else idk)

also what do you mean by "fiddling with my main save"? theres not really anything too complicated here lol, just unequipping weapons at terminals

you dont really have to stay strict to the guide doe, you can take the general idea and make your own rules that youd find fun
