Modding LC Manually
Before we begin, we need to set up BepInEx[github.com] which can be downloaded here[github.com].

After downloading, open the file and drag everything into your game folder.

Now your game folder should look something like this.

Go to Lethal Company in your Steam Library and navigate to Properties.

Under Launch Options your gonna copy and paste WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp.dll=n,b" %command%

Boot up the game until you hit this screen then close the game. We needed to run the game once so BepInEx could set itself up.

Your BepInEx folder (which you placed in your game folder) should look like this.

When downloading the mod you want, ensure you download the actual zip.

Open the mod zip file and drag all the files in the plugins folder, which is in your BepInEx folder.
(You just need to drag the .dll files and any folders, but it's idiot-proof to just drag everything.)

If done right, everything should work and you are done.
Modding LC via r2modman Mod Manager
Before starting, it is highly recommended your Lethal Company is installed in the Steam Deck's Internal Storage - not on a MicroSD or External Storage. r2modman mods most likely won't work in Gaming Mode otherwise.

Install r2modman[thunderstore.io] by clicking on Manual Download.

Open the zip file and extract it wherever you want then open r2modman-3.1.45.AppImage

Right-click the AppImage> Properties > Permissions > check Is Executable and click OK.

Search for Lethal Company (You can also click on set as default to start there from now on.)

Select the Default Profile
(This is important if you plan on playing with mods via r2modman in Gaming Mode.)

On the left click Online then find the mod you want and click Download with dependencies.

After you download the mods you want, click Start modded in the top left. Everything should be working if you play in Desktop Mode.

If you want mods to work in Gaming Mode, go to Lethal Company in your Steam Library and navigate to Properties.
Copy and paste
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command% --doorstop-enable true --doorstop-target "/home/deck/.config/r2modmanPlus-local/LethalCompany/profiles/Default/BepInEx/core/BepInEx.Preloader.dll" --r2profile "Default"
into your Steam Launch Options.

You should also be able to see the needed launch settings at the bottom of the Help tab
Pontential Issues
The game launches in Gaming Mode without mods using r2modman!
Assuming you followed all previous steps correctly, This usually happens if your game is installed on a MicroSD or somewhere that isn't the Internal Storage. You can try fixing it by dragging the 1966720 folder located at
/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1966720
to
/run/media/deck/01e40a49-5816-44d3-857d-17ada5bc5d4d/steamapps/compatdata
and then clicking Link Here

If that doesn't work, simply install the game in your Steam Deck's Internal Storage. It's also possible your mods are working but conflict with each other and break such as MoreCompany + BiggerLobby.

The game launches without mods after I installed them manually!
You probably made a simple mistake, but it's also possible your mods are working but conflict with each other and break such as MoreCompany + BiggerLobby.

Do my friends also need to install the mods?
Unless the mod is cilent-sided, yes they need them as well. Make sure they all have the mod(s), and everyone's mod(s) are up to date.

Will I get banned for using them?
The developer hasn't commented on their usage as far as I know but as long as you aren't malicious, then no you'll be fine.

Mods just won't work
Many possible reasons but if you just can't get it working, a new game update may have broken or changed things. This has already happened repeatedly in the past.
Recommended Mods
All of these mods were used on v49, they may be abandoned or broken in future updates. Please make sure they support the version you are playing on.

To play modded in gaming mode.
You need to set this up in desktop where you go to the game then goto: settings > properties > Launch Options: then there is a code you can run, then copy and paste this in.

--doorstop-enable true --doorstop-target "Z:/home/deck/.config/r2modmanPlus-local/LethalCompany/profiles/Default/BepInEx/core/BepInEx.Preloader.dll" -r2profile "Default"

Then you should be good to go.
If you need an explanation Here's the post my buddy on deck found.

Unsure about the manager but any mod installed manually should work in Gaming Mode.
Gamerbird1120 21. jan. 2024 kl. 8:36
Is there a way to have it modded in gaming mode?
Reptosaur963 7. jan. 2024 kl. 14:13
Starting over, I had fixed the resolution by using in game setting and putting it into the “Windowed” option. However I still was missing a compatdata file for the game
Reptosaur963 7. jan. 2024 kl. 13:40
It happened when I had set up the mon manager, it worked fine before that step
Captain Diagram  [ophavsmand] 7. jan. 2024 kl. 4:47
I have no idea what could have caused that, stupid question but has deleting the game folder and reinstalling fixed it for at least vanilla gameplay? Also, have you tried messing with the resolution in the game settings? Did this happen after installing any mods in particular or just after setting up the manager?

I had followed instructions but now my game wont fill the whole screen, only being a square section. Launching modded from r2modman says Lethal Company compatibility data “does not exist in Steam’s specified location” and failed to find directory: /run/media/mmcblk0p1/steamapps/compatdata/1966720 it also says that I have not started the game once, yet I have started from steam and r2modman’s vanilla since. Please help. I would at least like to still play vanilla in a normal Steam Deck aspect ratio. Thank you.

For me, I needed to use another command that uses a profile in the mod manager, seperated by a space from the first commend.
From the thunderstore settings I scrolled down until I saw "Set Launch Parameters" I copy & pasted the first code "--doorstop-enable true...etc" for modded games then pasted it AFTER the first code in Lethal Company's Launch Settings with a space in between and suddenly the game is properly loading mods.
