How to make ARMA3 look better

Graphic settings, mods and overlays to use so that your game will look finaly normal.

In game graphical settings

These are my settings. Since arma 3 runs mostly on CPU and not GPU it makes no difference on running full low graphics to earn those extra 2 FPS when your game already looks like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Rest of the settings like bloom, blur etc. are your personal preference.

But, you need to make last change here. Use the "fullscreen window" mode of display so ARMA won't do weird things.

ReShade

If you want to get the best from the best game look like you see on twich and youtube. You have to use ReShade overlay.

Now open nexus mods or any other site and search for the reshade perset that suits you the most

Mine is this one: A3 Visual Overhaul[www.nexusmods.com] I still have changed it for my likes so it wont be 1:1


Simply download the program (from here[reshade.me] ) open it and selecting arma3 as your game check all the boxes with game effects that you want (I always check them all). Dont forget to add a custom one that you have downloaded before!

In game configuration of ReShade

Open the reshade menu with "Home" button on your keyboard. Customise the perset as you wish, and that's it!

I strongly recommend everyone to add a special button for every active effect so at any time you can disable everything with 1 click for me being pause/break key for excample. Ofc you can mess with this to get a combination of normal reshade effect and after turning NVGs on your effects change.

As I wrote. This is my perset and I used it to get that body cam, fake, shaky, awful look. You guys need to learn how to read and then complain. For so many people that wont do their own research I will add more persets and more effect screens.

reshade is awesome but whatever preset you used makes the game look so friggin saturated. any other presets that make the colours look more natural?

would like to see max uhd 4k ultra graphics with 60fps , on a server on single player lol rtx 4050 and 16thred cpu i can get around 50pfs on normal high graphics

reshade works wonders on this game, seriously. i think most of the haters just couldn't figure out how to properly install it or think you would be stuck with one or two presets but really it gives you TONS of graphic options to mess with. arma 3 hasn't looked better ever! and its 2024! WTF!
