Lord of the Rings TCG (HiRez)

The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game (LotR-TCG) is a collectible card game produced by Decipher, Inc. It was printed across 19 sets between the years 2001 and 2007. The game is very unique in the sense that each player has both Free Peoples (good) and Shadow (evil) cards in its deck and the roles alternate between guiding Frodo to safety and attempting to kill him. The game uses an innovative Twilight Pool mechanic, a cost system where Free Peoples cards increase the amount of Twilight, which Shadow cards then use as a resource.

This mod contains all cards from Sets 1 to 19 in high resolution. Furthermore, the mod contains some cards of the Promo set. The game table and the material is designed to ease the flow of the game in Tabletop Simulator:

• All cards are named (title, subtitle and collectors ID), thus it is easy to search for a specific card inside a deck using the search tool.
  
• A twilight counter is scripted on the table to easily keep track of the Twilight pool: Left-click increases the counter, right-click decreases it and the Reset button resets it to zero.
  
• Scripted Wound- and Burden counters are provided in bags to the side of the table. Similar to the Twilight counter these can be left/right clicked to increase/decrease the indicated number of Wounds/Burdens.
  
• Outlines of the site cards with corresponding snap points are added to the table for an easy setup of the adventure path.
  
• User-configurable hotkeys are provided making it easy to place cards (possessions and artifacts) neatly aligned underneath other cards and to get them back from there.
  
• Playmats are provided to neatly arrange the Adventure- and Draw decks as well as the Discard- and Dead piles.
  
• If you are playing with more than two players click the (barely visible) buttons at the side of the table (in front of the hand zones of the yellow and green players) in order to spawn more Playmats and Player Tokens.
  
• The Tablet at the side of the Table links to the Comprehensive Rules 4.1, which is the most up-to-date rule set and can be used to easily lookup and search trough the rules.
  
• A treasure chest is located at the side of the Table where you can store your own Decks if you like.

Cards are obtained either from the Deck Importer or from the Deck Generator. Both Tools are described in the following sections.

The Deck Importer works similar to the one used on GEMP and is fully compatible with Deck lists exported from there. The workflow to import a deck from GEMP into this Tabletop Simulator mod is as follows:

1. Open your Deck Library on GEMP and for the Deck of choice click on "Deck list".
   
2. In the Deck list window that opens copy the complete text (Ctrl+A Ctrl+C).
   
3. Click into the Text field of the Deck Importer and paste the text (Ctrl+V).
   
4. Finally, click on the "Import Deck" button of the Deck Importer.

Notice that the Deck Importer also supports other Formats, for example the Deck lists from the Lord of the Rings TCG Wiki[wiki.lotrtcgpc.net]. In general the Syntax of the Deck Importer is as follows:

• The first line is interpreted as the Title of the Deck (if the first line is not the title nothing bad will happen, except that your Deck will have a strange name).
  
• One line of text describes one card (lines which can not be identified as valid card descriptors are ignored).
  
• Leading or trailing multipliers (example: 4x) indicate how many copies of the given card should be added to the deck.
  
• Cards can be specified by Title and Subtitle and/or Collectors ID.

The following are some examples of valid card descriptions:

• Legolas, Greenleaf
  
• 4x 1R50
  
• 1R50 x4
  
• 4x Legolas, Greenleaf (1R50)

The Deck Generator is an easy to use Tool which allows you to generate true-to-original Starter Decks, Draft Packs and Booster Packs. In the first drop-down menu you can choose the Expansion Set and in the second one you choose between the available Starter Decks and Booster/Draft Packs of that Set.

The distribution of the cards contained inside the Booster Packs are exact representations of original Booster Packs, i.e., they contain 7 random common cards, 3 random uncommon cards and one random rare card (an exception to this rule are the Booster Packs from the Reflections Set).

The Starter Decks (typically) contain 60 fixed cards and 3 random rare cards. Since this does not result in a tournament legal deck you can choose to instead import the LOTRO Versions of the Starter Decks (by clicking on the corresponding checkbox) which, instead of the 3 random cards, adds a number of fixed cards to the decks making them tournament legal and also fixes some mistakes. Furthermore, most Starter Decks contain the corresponding original Starter-Deck Rulebook.

There are several user-configurable hotkeys provided with this mod:

• Place one or multiple cards below another one (default hotkey: Numpad 2). This is useful for placing possessions or artifacts neatly aligned below other cards. First, select the card(s) you want to place below using Ctrl + Left mouse click(s). Then point with the mouse to the card under which the selected cards are to be placed and press the hotkey. The cards are placed underneath in the order they were selected.
  
• Remove one or multiple cards from below another card (default hotkey: Numpad 8). This is useful if you want to remove possessions or artifacts below other cards. First, select the card(s) you want to remove from below another one using Ctrl + Left mouse click(s). Then hover the pointer over the place where the selected cards should be placed and press the hotkey. The cards are placed in the order they were selected.
  
• Discard a card (default hotkey: J). Simply hover over the card to be discarded and press the hotkey.
  
• Bring a card to the dead pile (default hotkey: K). Simply hover over the card to be placed on the dead pile and press the hotkey.
  
• Spawn a Wound-Counter Token (default hotkey: I). Spawns a Wound-Counter Token underneath the Cursor.
  
• Spawn a Burden-Counter Token (default hotkey: O). Spawns a Burden-Counter Token underneath the Cursor.

• The first time you load the mod all card images need to be downloaded, which can take quite some time! If Mod-Caching is activated in the TTS options this should be a one-time process and the next time the mod should load more quickly.
  
• Upside cards do not stack! This is a feature not a bug, since in this game you often want to place upside cards on top of each other without stacking them. For an upside deck of cards (i.e., two or more cards) adding new cards works as normal.

• The images for the cards and almost all other resources are from the fantastic LotR-TCG Players Council[lotrtcgpc.net].
  
• The code for the Deck Importer is inspired by the code of the deck-import Tool of GEMP[play.lotrtcgpc.net], which is a fantastic place to play the LotR-TCG as well as the Star Wars CCG.
  
• The scripted Wound- and Burden Counters are taken from the mod of MisterBenn.
  
• For naming the cards I usded the Card-Naming Tool from Hiram Abiff.
