Jaxonz Protect Favorites

Description
Keep Your Favorite Things!
Prevents unintentionally dropping, selling, or storing items marked as favorites.
Just a small mod to protect me from myself. If you've ever discovered that you accidentally sold a treasured item to a vendor or left it at home, this mod is for you, too.

How It Works
Protect Favorites makes any item you mark as favorite a 'quest object' that cannot be sold, dropped, or smelted.

Features
  • Works with all menus
  • Stops loss of valued items
Requirements
  • SKSE[skse.silverlock.org]
Compatibility
  • Compatible with DLC and 3rd party mods.
  • No known conflicts with any other mods.
  • Any load order works.
  • Can be cleanly removed at any time.
Upgrading
This version of Protect Favorites works differently than prior versions. You will have to unfavorite and favorite each item in order for it to be protected.
All prompts have been removed. Vendor menus simply will not show quest objects as sellable. Crafting menus will not show quest objects as available components.

Older versions of JPF are available on Nexus. These operate in the way you describe, but have some other drawbacks with respect to crafting.

This mod totally RUINED my favoutites menu. First, the favourites refuse to be favourited, even when I hold down F. Next, the items refuse to be unfavourited, and trying to drop them doesn't work and the game gives me a message that quest items can't be removed. And it works the other way around, with some items being randomly unfavourited even though I went no where near them. Honestly, it maybe it's just my load order, but I'm gonna unsubscribe and make my own version of the mod: by looking carefully to see if an item I'm about to sell or drop is a favourite.

Version 1.0
Changed methodology to make favorited items quest objects. This allows existing game mechanics to provide even better protection, eliminates prompting, and simplifies code.

This version of Protect Favorites works differently than prior versions. If upgrading or adding to an existing game, you will have to unfavorite and favorite each item in order for it to be protected.
All prompts have been removed. Vendor menus simply will not show quest objects as sellable. Crafting menus will not show quest objects as available components.

This method works much better in so many respects. I hope you won't mind the minor initial inconvenience.

I would like protection for what I'm wearing at least. I also kind of liked being able to favorite some of my better potions. This mod could turn into something big that needs a settings menu to set what you want or don't want protected. Anyhow, good job. It's come in real handy for me already.

Not yet. That was a little too ambitious for a first release.

Will this prevent accidently smelting something? One of my biggest annoyances is that when smelting something it will just give you the base info. I've accidently smelted the armor that I was wearing. Btw, you have some good mods out there.
