CS2 FPS Boost with -threads Launch Option

CS2 for some reason uses one less P-Core than available. By using -threads launch option, we can fix this issue and get more out of our system's performance. I will show you how to do it in this guide.

Introduction

Without using threads launch option, I am getting 237 1% percentile FPS
however with -threads 7, I am getting 260.6 FPS.

You can clearly see that the game is using 5 threads without any launch option while my CPU have 6.

How to use -threads

To fix this issue, we will go to CS2 Steam settings and in launch options we will use -threads option. You can find the count of Physical Cores by going to Task manager and under the Performance Tab. You can see I have 6 Cores available.

To make CS2 use all the cores, we will type 7 and check it out.
The Game is now using all the 6 Physical Cores available.

You have to use the number of "logical processors" that's shown in the task manager instead of your number of cores and then you can't add +1, just use the number that it says there

Good point but bad explanation. Threads arent the physical cores so as it written there "12CPUs (6cores)" the 12CPUs part refers to your threads so you can actually set the number up to that number. For me it went from 80-130fps to stable 200 after setting the threads to 12
