Historical Name Expansion

Description
This mod adds thousands of Historical Names for random NPCs. This mod is highly compatible with various versions and mods. This mod will produce many synergies with almost all of the other mods, such as adding extra random NPCs.

Please note that Calradia is a fictional continent. In high school, I was never taught about the historical, cultural, or other aspects of the integrity between Sturgia and Kievan Rus. I DON'T have time to respond to anyone talking about historical accuracy based on such a novel historical theory. I hope you understand this fact if you're an "expert on history".

Over 3,700 given names and clan names are added for the vanilla cultures. In addition, extra modded cultures like Huaxia and Tetsojin are supported. This mod provides around 7,000 names in total.

Extra names are from historical sources and are picked with a view to lore-friendly. E.g., Ancient to Medieval Greek and Latin names for the Imperials, Old English Anglo-Saxon names for Vlandians, and so on.

Load this mod after any other mod that changes the culture settings. If you don't know, you may load this last.

My other mods are recommended.

* Better Name Dice: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3492680625
* Rebel Clan Name Changer: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3492671006

Finally, please note that Calradia is a fictional continent, and read carefully my document, Prof. Historician.

how do i use this mod bro

Calradia is its own world and should be enjoyed as such, just because it draws parallels to real history doesn't mean it has to adhere to everything IRL, it has its own lore and world building, and being inspired by something doesn't mean you have to stick to it like a rule.

(1) How many times should I repeat "Calradia is a fictional continent," Sir Prof. Historician?
(2) Vlandian names are picked from multiple sources, not only Anglo-Saxon. Would you mind never complaining without using?

it is pretty weird that Vlandia gets Anglo-Saxon names, given they are Pre=French Franks and Flems. Saxons and Angels are on the other side of the Benelux

But Vlandians are based off the Flemish, they were Frankish, not Anglo Saxon, those are two distinct cultures?

@ Vova

Thanks for the reply. I have written a long-ass response, but it is way too long apparently. How can I give that to you? Should I post it here part by part?

TLDR: I discussed some historical context, and the syntax for the names and nicknames. Then I gave actual source names, suggested checking some websites like Wikipedia, Britannica etc. and strongly suggested the usage of LLMs at the end.

*Source Suggestions*
Mongolian: The Secret History of Mongols Altan Tobchi, Jami' al-Tawarikh by Rashid al-Din, some online dictionaries.

Turkic: Orkhun Inscrıptions, Kutatgu Bilig, Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk (literally a dictionary from the 11c), Yenisei Inscriptions, The Book of Dede Korkut, Codex Cumanicus and some online dictionaries.

PS: Check the Warband mod called "Eagle and the Radiant Cross". They perfectly emulated some states of Europe, with clever names.

@Arturion

I'm already planning to replace many names drastically in the next update, thus some strange names will be removed. However, note my key motives for this mod (mentioned in the linked page), please. There are still various naming traditions per culture in real life: by-name, nickname, cognomen, and so on. In my opinion, giving such "non-standardized" names to people in Middle Ages Calradia doesn't lose immersion. So I included names that are not strictly thought of as personal names. Although such names should be removed as far as possible if it is confusing for users, I don't want to reduce the size of name pools. Hence, if you want to remove such names or add more Turkic-Mongolian names, tell me where the credible source is, please.

Very nice idea and job. Just a small remark and feedback. Khuzait looks fully Mongolian, while the idea behind this faction is "Turko-Mongol" as the culture. On the very first screenshot, at the bottom right, there is a guy called "Rancid Maqa Tudun". Tudun was the title for governors in Kokturk Khaghanate, during 6th - 8th century, and probably related to the Saxon title "theoden - leader of people", like tigin-thane duo. There are good number of resources that can give you Turkic names from that era.

@米塔 Interesting. Yes, my source also says so. I accept the spell "Nai-ma-chen" because the Bannerlord can't display its letter (J + a caron). I will change the spell if it sounds Chinese to some people. (Additionally, I found I mistakenly assigned Nai-ma-chen and Töregene as male names. I will fix this too.)
