Which doctrine give what unit in Festung Europa and Liberation campaign ? ( Required Liberation DLC ) .

Overviews :
Liberation DLC provide campaign missions for both German and American , namely Festung Europa and Liberation . These missions are different from other nation campaign is that they let you select doctrine before you start the battle .

Doctrine provide different set of unit that will arrive as reinforcement after a certain point during the mission , well most of them , there are missions do that right at the beginning .

4 doctrines : All round , Defensive , Offensive , Irregular .



Festung Europa - The Hills of Saint Lo
After you survives the initial attack waves , the battlefield will expanded and you are tasked to defend HQ on the hill , the American gonna assault that hill using theirs M4 sherman tanks , many of them . A set of reinforcement arrive to help you out .




All Round :



The best of all choice , ignore the halftrack full of elite Falls , that Jadgpanzer 4 ( early ) is all you need . It frontal armor will deflect all shot from M4 Sherman and theirs puny 7.5 . Just don't let it get tracked and you are golden .



Defensive :



Crap , it like a downgrade , from halftrack to smaller halftrack and armored tank destroyer to no armored one . You still can count on the Marder 3 main gun to 1 shot Sherman .



Offensive :



Decent choice , Halftrack with 2 cm auto cannon to kill infantry and armored utility car while the StuH 42 10.5cm howitzer can demolish tank , just be careful of the shorter range of 10.5 . Use the hedge row to your advantage .


Irregular :



If you wanna go all-out anti infantry , this is what you want , Halftrack with flamethrower and a Wirbelwind anti-aircraft flak panzer with quad 2 cm . Unfortunately you gotta rely on your 88 to destroy tanks now .
Festung Europa - Operation Luttich
At the start of the battle you will receive a special halftrack , by nightfall when you need to fortify the town , the final reinforcement arrive consist of 2cm AA Half-track , 1 engineering truck and a light vehicle .

All-round :


It is like Yankee Quad Mounted HT but way better as German Halftrack is much more sturdy than M2 halftrack .



7.5 cm infantry gun armed armored car is lethal vs infantry and HEAT round can put some hurt on M4A1 Sherman variant as they have thin armor .



Defensive :


2 cm have more range than triple 15mm but that about it .




Pak 7.5 is a powerful anti tank cannon that will have no problem penetrating Sherman tank , make sure you don't lose the Half-track , any cannon that can fight tank is valuable asset .


Offensive :



Don't take this one half-hearted ( bleugh ) . 3,7cm can stun and even outright destroy tank if have side armor . Gunner crews are a tab bit exposed , however , you have more range than normal fire-arm anyways .




Oi Ho ho ho , French tank is here and just like the French army , it is a joke . Both 3.7 cannon and 7.5 howitzer lacking punch . It may afford some lucky bounces but not to Sherman with 7.62 .


Irregular :



Flamer can burn down house and flush out infantry but be careful as American have riffle grenadier and Bazooka to deter armor from a distance and flamer halftrack have short range .




28 cm rocket eat a lot supply , but even a single one of them represent a huge threat to both infantry and armor in a wide radius .
Festung Europa - Escaping The Pocket
A special infantry unit ready for action at the start

All-round :
Arty signaller can call down a light arty barrage , you only have 1 flare so make it count .


Defensive :
Supply Officer throw a smoke grenade and an ammo box will drop down from the sky .


Offensive :
Fallshcirmjager sniper use scoped Gewehr 43 . A ridiculous sniper gun with very fast aim time and being semi-auto it is not that helpless when you get into a gunfight .


Irregular :
A duo of Bradenburger , German commando unit with high stealth capability let them sneak better .
Festung Europa - Watch Am Rhein
2 different light vehicles at the start depend on doctrine . Then after you capture the first line of defense , 2nd reinforcement will arrive with 1 motorized infantry , 1 supply half track and tanks . Finally if you get rid of all M9 Priest out of the hill right next to you , you will receive the final reinforcement consist of infantry , supply half track , 1 tank and one long range artillery .

All-Round :



Motorized pioneer squad and a 234 armored car with potent 7.5 cm Pak 40 for smacking Sherman tanks .




Stuh 42 to demolish obstacle with 10.5cm , Jadpanther to destroy tank , Panzer 4H is just there to fill the slot .




Panther G is immune to all Sherman tiny gun including the long 7.62 , just have to watch out for 90mm and arty . The rocket half track fire 6 28cm rockets at distance of 250m and those rockets will nuke the entire armored column .


Defensive :



234 Armored car with 7.5cm infantry gun is much more valuable than mortar halftrack as it is more accurate and we are short on ammunition .




At least now you have some real infantry instead of scout troop . Jadgpanzer 4 late version have increased armor and use the same gun as Panther tank but instantly blow up if got shot on the side . Sturmpanzer 4 use 15cm heavy infantry gun to knock out tank , however the armor may not up to the task . Nashorn , despite having no armor , is armed with Tiger 88mm , so plan your defense carefully as it will be all about protecting this tank destroyer from any harm .




Admit it , you choose this doctrine just for this Jadgtiger alone . Impervious to all American gun and 12.8 cm instantly bonk Sherman tank at 230m range . You also have Wespe self-propelled arty , 10.5 howitzer is meh and shell land all over the place .


Offensive :



Half-track with Pak40 , lacking frontal MG for self defense and have to rely on 234 armored car armed with 2cm auto cannon .




A balance option but lacking range compare to other , AA flak Panzer can cut infantry to ribbon . Jadgpanzer 4 early version use the same gun as Panzer 4 , not that powerful but still retain the strong frontal armor . Panther G is the main tank you gonna use as it can dish out damage and tank a lot .




Tiger tank have both thicc armor and stronk 88 mm to terrorize Sherman tank . If that is not enough , self-propelled artillery Hummel can pummel the enemy from 385m range with its 150m howitzer .


Irregular :



Halftrack with triple 15mm to throw as much bullet as they can before German run out of ammunition . Meanwhile , the Puma car have 5cm which is weaker AT gun compare to other doctrine but have turret that can rotate 360 degree and smoke canister .




Hetzer have trollish frontal armor that can bounce shot from 7.62 . Panzer 4J use the same gun as H version but lacking skirt armor . Veteran Tiger tank will smash all Sherman tank as soon as you get some fuel for it .




King Tiger have even more armor and better gun than normal Tiger , enemy infantries still can swarm it though , that is where the Panzerwerfer come in by firing barrage of 15cm rocket to scatter enemy formation .
Festung Europa - The Bloody Ardennes
You have kicked out all the American out of the town and now have to fortify it , a group of 1 motorized Fallspioneer , 1 Stug 3 and 2 armored vehicles come as your reinforcement

All-round :



Stug 3 late version is glass cannon at this point , pak 7.5 can take on Sherman but now theirs long 7.62cm is a real threat . Jadgpanzer 4 can bounce some shots but not from those Sherman using 10.5 howitzer and Slugger with theirs 90mm . Grille though is an interesting vehicle as its 15 cm heavy infantry gun can fire directly or use in the same manner as artillery .



Defensive :



2 flavors of Stug 3 , one use Pak 7.5 and the other use 10.5 howitzer . Sturmpanzer 4 have 15cm heavy infantry gun . No reliable way to tank hit and derp gun generally have shorter range than anti tank gun.


Offensive :




Both Hetzer and Jadpanzer 4 can tank shots from the front and the Jadpanzer 4 is carrying Panther gun which can smack all Sherman tank but pray no 10.5 howitzer or 90mm pointing at theirs location .


Irregular :



Full glass cannon line up , Marder 3 use a slightly worse version of Pak 7.5 but you probably want to protect that Nashorn at all cost cus it have 8.8 cannon .
Festung Europa - Last Stand At Ruhr
After ambushing both armored convoy and artillery position , you are to fall back to the town of Attern , among all the abandoned tank , there is one special heavy tank in need of repair .


All-round


Early version of King Tiger have weak turret but the enemy can't do anything to it if you disable them first .


Defensive



Defensive once again take the cake huh , Pershing tanks hate this thing , find out why ( Hint : it is the gun ) .


Offensive



King Tiger Ausf B have increased turret armor and nicer looking camo pattern , other than that it is not much different in combat capability compare to early version .


Irregular



If you choose the option to fight till the bitter end , may as well destroy as many enemy as you can . Sturmtiger have shorter range than anti-tank gun but you can fire it from top of the hill and back out to reload .
Liberation - Hedgerow Hell
Before you assault the hill , a group of motorized infantry , HMG armed supply truck and armored vehicles arrive .

All-round



M10 tank destroyer existed to be panzerfausted by Panzergren hiding in foxhole or slapped by 8.8 battery on hill , it won't have a good time here . 105mm M2A1 arty have good accuracy , currently suffer a bug that cause them to disappear from the match when you load file save .


Defensive



Ahh much better , M4A3 sherman have a lot HE and smoke round to help infantry go pass hedgerow . 155mm M1 trade accuracy for bigger blast .


Offensive



" Why no arty ? " you may ask , that because this M4 is using 10.5 howitzer , very good at demolishing obstacles + infantries , though shorter range than AT gun , pro tip : you can fire smoke round between you and the 8.8 and then send an 10.5 shell at that 8.8 position , A.I won't shoot you immediately if nothing see this tank coming .


Irregular



If you like arty a lot then you have picked the right doctrine , half track carrying 10.5 M2A1 , basically it can do what the normal 10.5 can do but much more mobile , 4.5 inches howitzer have longer range though lacking smoke shell .
Liberation - Mortain Counterattack
When the Panther battle-group attack the village , reinforcement arrive with 1 armed supply truck , 1 mechanized infantry and armored vehicle to repel them .


All-round



M4A1 76 (W) may have upgrade theirs gun to 7.62 , but Panther frontal armor is much tougher . M9 priest is redundant , the village provide many cover to tackle Panthers and it is in your best interest to not destroy everything in order to flank enemy tank with infantry .


Defensive



M10 3 inches gun may have a chance of penetrating Panther turret but no armor so it instantly die the moment Panther shoot at it , plus the M4A3 76W HVSS that you start with is much better in every aspect . 4.5 inch howitzer only have HE shell and is being towed by high speed tractor , if that make any sense .



Offensive



M4A3 Late is good vs infantry , M4 105 good vs both infantry and tank


Irregular



M18 Hellcat have better gun than M10 on top of having ludicrous speed . T19 not to be outdone with its 105mm M2A1 howitzer and of course it run fast too .
Liberation - Hill 400
In this mission , you have the ability to buy unit just like in Skirmish battle using 2000 MP and it replenish slowly . However , you can only buy a limited number of them so don't be wasteful .

General Call-in
: Order the A.I controlled M12 platoon to fire at specific location . There is a limit of how far these 155mm can shoot so judge the distance wisely or else you gonna waste MP and reserves pool . Limit to 20 strikes .


: Clear the flak group side objective to gain access to this . P-47 drop 2 bombs to smash Jerry defensive line . Limit to 20 .


: 30 cal on tripod , for 120 MP you can buy 2 of these instead of 1.50 cal thus can cover more during defense phase . Limit to 10 .


: Significantly more expensive but hit a lot harder and can disable light vehicle . Limit to 10 .


: Ranger Platoon commander is the only one who can do long range scouting with the binoc and also a good combatant . Limit to 10 .


: Re-supply your troops with this truck . Limit to 10 .






All-round
: Ranger Sniper brought himself smoke , frag and anti-tank grenade . You can also use him to control what your A.I arty gonna shoot at , assuming they have clear line of sight of course . Limit to 10 .

: This version of Ranger team is more heavily armed than the one in Skirmish , they have riffle grenade and M9A1 bazooka . A medic also included in the team . Limit to 10 .

: Not exactly a reliable AT gun but it is your only source of long range Anti-tank , try to hold fire and wait till enemy vehicle show theirs side . Limit to 10 .

Liberation - Christmas Trouble
The German have failed to cross the bridge . Now HQ send a detachment of mechanized infantry and tank to retake the town .


All-round


Jumbo Assault tank have a lot armor to the point they can ignore Panther but the shot 7.5cm is a terrible gun . Fortunately , T19 provide long range bombardment with its 10.5 M2A1 howitzer .



Defensive


This Jumbo use 7.62 cannon , it can now cut through Panzer 4 , Stug 3 and Panther turret with ease . M21 mortar half track barely have any use as long as you managed to save all your mortar team .



Offensive


M4 105 highly effective vs group of infantry and M36B Slugger destroy all manner of Panzer with 90mm .


Irregular


Both M4A3 76W HVSS and M8 Scott move very fast , the Sherman armed with the latest 76mm that will shred Panther turret while M8 may need to go for side armor to unload HEAT round .
Liberation - Lair Of The Beast
HQ don't want to risk theirs new toy just yet , so they give you a tank to sweep the street first .

All-round


Derp gun is the best when it come to urban combat which involved tank trap plus infantries hiding inside building and this M4 have the thing we need .


Defensive


The only advantage Jumbo have is its thick frontal armor to man-handling most anti tank gun but Panzerfaust and Panzershreck will go through it like nothing and AT infantries hiding in every corner . Also short 7.5 don't have enough power to blow up building .


Offensive


A duo of M8 Scott , if your micro skill is so terrible that you lost one , congrat , you got a replacement and not suffer much from the loss unless it is under control of your friend in Co-op session . 7.5 howitzer HE shell hit a bit harder than normal Sherman 7.5 .


Irregular


Quad AA half track and Mortar Half-track , you won't have firepower or accurate fire support advantage here . Time to put your decision making and micro skill to the test . Or just spam White Phosphorous grenade to victory , i dunno , who am i to tell you how to play ? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While i am not so sure about the Jadgpanzer 4 on 2nd wave , but the artillery strike definitely bugged .

Hmm. No i im playing wacht am rhein and dont have a mod. Weird it is different for different people. I dont get a jagdpanzer. But the artillery you get at the end. Also doesnt spawn for me. I can call it it. The timer goes and the points are paid. But the artillery doesnt come. So i think the mission is bugged for me.

It still have Jadgpanzer 4 with defensive doctrine , probably you are playing Bloody Ardennes or have a mod .

In Festung Europa - Watch Am Rhein(isnt it Wacht Am rhein?). I used the defensive doctrine. And i didnt get the Jadgpanzer 4 at all. This mission is quite hard with the artillery. You really could use it.

I dont know if this is a bug or they have updated it to be like that.
