Mil ranging.
I have developed a mil rangefinding sliderule for those can't be bothered to make their own or don't want to fork out $30 for a mil-dot master. Although I made it for real life range-finding it should work perfectly well in ArmA.

Download here, print it out and do a little arts & craft. It isn't hard to figure out.

To use:
1. Know the height or width of the object you need to determine the range to.
2. Using a mil scale, or mil-dot reticle, measure how many mils large it is.
3. Line up the size of the object with the apparent size in mils.
4. Read the distance on the right.

So in this example if you had a tank that is 2.25m tall, and you measure the size of it as 6mils, then the distance to the tank is about 375m.

I just checked and the link should still work. Anyone who has the link should have permission to download it. Try copy-pasting the link into your browser rather than clicking it directly.

With meters to yards, just add a 10th of the outcome. As a meter is about 9.5 % longer than a yard.

With 25.4mm per inch you kind of got that already on that mm scale, notice the 4 divisions beloow the 1000mm. Above it you need to add your own additional quarter marks. Just divide the space in halve.

can you make an insert that would do inches/ yards?

I have no idea what the height of the vehicles are in ArmA. If there is a resource you could look it up, or you could reverse the values and work it out. For example, put the vehicle exactly 200m away and look at it through a scope and measure how many mils large it is, line up the slide for 200m and it should tell you how large the vehicle is.

Great Tool, helps alot.
But I got one question, how do I know how tall an Vehicle etc. is? I know that the Player is about 1.800mm, 1.80m tall but what about i.e. an Hunter?
