Installation
  1. Download JKXR via Sidequest[sidequestvr.com] on your headset.
  2. On your Quest, Start JK XR for the first time.
Attention: On Meta firmware v59 you will get caught in an infinite loop of the "permission dialog". Workaround for now is to grant permission and then force the device to power off by pressing the power button for 5 seconds. The port will start fine after that. We are working on a fix!
It will ask for appropriate permissions (which you must allow), it will create the necessary folders and then close down.
  3. Copy assets files.
Go to your Steam Installation on your PC (Jedi Outcast\GameData\base).
Copy only the assets files (assets0.pk3, assets1.pk3, assets2.pk3, assets5.pk3) from your PC install of JK:Outcast (Jedi Outcast\GameData\base) into the following folder on your device: \JKXR\JK2\base
Difficulty settings
  • TBDC Mode 1: Hard enemies / stronger player guns (default)
This version uses faithful enemy speeds and aggression from the original game, which are fast and challenging by modern standards. To balance this, projectile speeds and gun power are raised to feel more canon to the Star Wars movies and prevent Stormtroopers and other enemies from being able to avoid gunfire by strafing. There are also exaggerated knockback effects.
  • TBDC Mode 2: Slower enemies (Easier) / original player guns
Recommended for a slower paced tactical encounter and less frantic lightsaber duels. Projectile speeds are faithful to the original game (slower), but enemy movement and aggression are toned back, where stormtroopers don't have an easy time to flank you or outrun you. You may need to still "lead" shots slightly ahead of enemies when they are on the move. This will also make lightsaber duels less hectic.
  • TBDC Mode 3: 100 % Vanilla / original gameplay (Hardest)
This mode gives you the original experience unsing the original AI and gameplay. This is the hardest option. Enemies are fast and agressive while your guns are at the normal original slow projectile speeds. This mode is less suitable for VR and only recommended for players that want the ultimate challenge.

Companion App
The companion app will be installed at the same time when using the SideQuest official page. This allows you to download mods and addons and switch between launching single player missions and the main game. This also detects if you've correctly set up the main application and asset files so is a good place to look if you are having issues.

Cheat Menu
In the main campaign of JK: Outcast you start without the Lightsaber or the Force powers. If you just wanna go wild with the Lightsaber and force choke all those poor Stormtroopers from the start, note that we added a Cheat Menu to the Datapad (Y button). It is hidden, but we are sure you'll manage to find it. :)

Sandbox Mode via Expanded Menu
We recommend to install the "Expanden Menu" via the Companion App for a great Sandbox experience. Create your own Star Wars scenarios on any SP or MP map!
