Intro
Are you ready to take your Jagged Alliance 3 experience to the next level? If you're a seasoned player looking to spice things up and embrace the chaos of dire combat situations, the DiceMan mod is your ticket to an unpredictable and thrilling adventure.

DiceMan doesn't just shake things up – it turns the battlefield into a dynamic and ever-changing arena. Enemies' stats, perks, weapons, and armor are all randomized based on your team's power, keeping you on your toes as you face impossible odds. Picture this: enemies spawning at unexpected locations, militias joining your troop or even allies turning against you, and reinforcements appearing out of nowhere – all determined by the roll of the dice.

But the chaos doesn't stop there. Loot drops become a game of chance, with varying amounts and types after each encounter. And if you're feeling particularly brave, be prepared to confront special adversaries who pose a serious threat to your success.

It may sound like total chaos, but for those who thrive on unpredictability, it's an absolute blast! Do you dare to try out this mod and test your tactical skills in the face of randomness?

Different from the DiceMan-XXX-Lite version, which only provides basic functions, the full version offers all funcions, and introduces a linked adjustment mechanism for global combat difficulty. That is, every option chosen by the player may affect the difficulty adjustment of other functions, either reducing the probability of another function occurring or making it easier to occur.

No need to restarting a new game campaign, all functions can be enabled independently anytime, adapting to different player styles. It is recommended to enable all options to experience the complete Rogue-like challenge.

Important: DiceMan is not aimed at a hardcore, realistic, or balanced mod. On the contrary, DiceMan's goal is to bring more uncertainty. Therefore, some intentional features of the mod create conflicts and deliberately disrupt balance, making it seem less realistic. Faced with this sense of losing control, you may feel uncomfortable. However, in the battlefield of JA3, unpredictability is meant to exist. So, please try it, love it, or hate it.

Key features

  • Random Enemy Stats, Perks, Weapons and Armor, based on the player's intensity and options
  • Random Battlefield Reinforcements and Betrayals, and player has the opportunity to temporarily control the enemies
  • Furthermore, when the situation on the battlefield becomes perilous, you can actively call AIM mercenaries for reinforcement
  • More Enemies come at the beginning of battle, based on the player's option
  • More or less drop loot from enemies, based on the player's option, including Zero drop or Full drop
  • Special Enemies who get extra enhancement, they are more dangerous
  • Brand new battlefiedl medic and engineer system, you can revive dead mate, build temporary cover, deploy portable heavy machine guns, search enemies with X-Ray, and even call in airstrikes to help you win battles
  • Brand new economy and QoL module allows you to freely buy and sell items, or cost money to automatically handle tedious repetitive tasks such as healing, repairing, and training militia
  • Other more interesting or challenging game features, such as Lucy777, Last Rambo, Iron Armor, Mirror Team, Artillery Support, etc

Hi.

I really liked the mod, especially for multiplying the enemies.

But I'm having a problem, when I position my units and send them, but in the battles for the cities later on when there are more enemies and allied militias, the game crashes at the beginning of the match, so I have to close the game and reopen it.

Is there any way to fix this?

I really wanted to like this mod to add some spice to encounters but being unable to disable features such as bombs randomly spawning on top of me or being bombed/mortared in underground facilities prompted me to turn it off.

For some reason mod settings do not work: changing equipment is disabled - but enemy equipment is not standard, dice roll is disabled - but bots use it, artillery strike is disabled - but bots use it.

The 1% RoughAI refers to each individual enemy having a 1% chance, not 1% of the total number of enemies. That is to say, in extreme cases(0.01 * 0.01 * 0.01), it's possible that all 3 enemies on the map could be all RoughAI

@wait4friend - got it, thanks. I might have a percentage issue then - I've always had it set to 1% and it spawns way more than that at times. For example, in my latest run it spawned 2 RoughAIs on the starting island where we go to meet the client Emma. Even with the multiplier of Ambush Enemies set to Double, we shouldn't be seeing 2 in that scenario as the default number of enemies in that starting scenario is 3. The two mods I use are this one and Rato's Gameplay Balance and Overhaul 3 which I believe doesn't touch the number of enemies. Still could be a compatibility issue so I'll test without Rato's mod on and see if that works. I'll be glad to have your suggestions if you have anything else I could try!

Certain special mechanisms require enemies to have RoughAI, so it cannot be completely disabled. Instead, the appearance rate can be reduced to a minimum of 1%.
