Too Many Kobolds

解説
Do you like this table? Think about purchasing the physical game at https://www.nyhgault.com and supporting its independent creator, Nyhgault, in the process! (He's in the middle of developing a kobold-themed board game too!)

----------------------

In Too Many Kobolds, players are dragons adopting kobolds to keep them company in their cave. Each turn, players choose a kobold card and place it in their cave, trying to make the kobolds they have adopted happy. Happy kobolds give points to their Dragon! Players draw cards until their cave is full. The Dragon who scores the most points at the end wins the game!

Too Many Kobolds is a card game for 2 to 5 players in which players are dragons adopting kobolds to keep them company in their cave. Each turn, players choose a new kobold card and place it in their cave, trying to make the kobolds happy based on resources (colours) they ask for. Each kobold has a colour and symbol corresponding to a type of resource they provide (crystal – purple, water – blue, moss – green, coins – yellow, etc.) They provide this resource to all their neighbours placed around them.

Players start with their Dragon as the first card in their cave and can adopt kobolds from a deck of cards which is the queue of kobolds who responded to the dragons’ classified ad and came to be adopted. The game ends when all players’ caves are full, and the dragon who scores the most points at the end wins the game!

But be careful! Facetious goblins have disguised themselves as kobolds to try to get adopted by the Dragons! They do not give any point and cannot be made happy. Some kobolds are also easy to make happy, but they might not give a lot of points! You will also discover other special kobolds in the game, like the kobold mom, kobold kids, and dragon fans! There are even special Dragon Powers, but each can be used only once per game!

The game can be played with family or friends without any problem. It offers different levels of gameplay depending on if you are just having fun making your kobolds happy or trying to optimize your kobolds in your cave to get the highest score (count 10min per player) The rules sheets are available in a variety of languages (see Table Contents below). The cards are all international (no text, only art and numbers) save for the dragon powers which have their name written in FR and EN, making this game playable with everyone!

~ SPECIAL TABLE INSTRUCTIONS ~

- Please follow the included manuals for standard gameplay instructions.
- Cave Mats were added specifically for this TTS table and to make play a little easier. As the manual states, players will be playing their Dragon and all Kobolds they receive into their Cave. In the original game, this was an imaginary 5x3 area that each player kept track of in front of them. The Cave Mat is a clearer representation of this space.
- When each player selects and places their Dragon card into their Cave, have them right click and change their Cave Mat to the element matching their Dragon. This is just cosmetic, but will give each player a properly-themed Cave for their Dragon and Kobolds.
- Each player gets one Dragon Mom, and one of each of the three Dragon Powers, at the start of the game. These have each been arranged in their own small decks to make card-dealing easier.
- Make sure players keep their Dragon Powers in their hand (drag the cards to the edge of the table below their mats), as these are supposed to be kept hidden from other players so they never know which remaining Powers cards other players have... Unless they were paying close attention, of course.
- Please note that while the Queue deck still needs to be shuffled at the start of the game, all cards are already correctly facing on their default 'shy' side.
- And just for fun: Try flipping the TMK box around. It is fully-modeled just like the physical TMK box, and has a detailed back.

@Sairus - Hahaha, might be an idea for an expansion kobold, the 'loner kobold'. But yeah, happy to help!

Thanks for clarifying!
we were playing that they become happy when no kobolds are around them when they placed. now we're going to play correctly ^_^

@Sairus323 - The kobolds worth 1 point? That is indicating that they have no resource cost and are immediately flipped to 'happy' side when being added to your dragon's den. The rulebook does not explicitly state this symbol's purpose but on Page 3 it says: "(2) On the 'shy' side, each card displays from 0 to 4 resources which are the resources the kobold would like to get around them to become happy." That's how you would know there are cards that cost zero resources and thus could infer that's what that symbol means - that and the fact the kobolds with no resource cost also give the smallest number of points. Though I agree, it should have probably been specified what that unique symbol was trying to say.

@⎛⎝JvxJ⎠⎞☠ - Aw, thank you! I'm glad it notified, I am never sure how that stuff works on Steam! But I assume everyone who subbed for other tables is gonna see this one...which is great, as Nyhgault and his game deserve more attention!
