MODERN WARFARE CRASHES

If your game is crashing on startup (while accepting the ToS), this guide is for you! (no)

This guide might not be useful for everyone.

While owning the game on Steam and Battlenet, I've never been able to launch it through Steam.
This is a summary of my journey to fix the game.

Things I've tried but that never worked

Disabling the 2FA ❌

turning off internet while launching the game ❌

I can accept the ToS without crashing the game, but it'll endlessly try to connect to the server (even if I turn internet back on)

verifying game files ❌

Steam will go on an endless loop of finding missing files, downloading them and it'll never work.

checking the game folder ❌

The BattleNet folder of the game looks as normal as it can be, but the steam folder looks all messed up with no sub-folders and no .exe files

Running the game and/or Steam as admin ❌

Disabling every overlay (including Steam overlay) ❌

Disabling the fullscreen optimization ❌

Things I never tried but might work

Unlinking the Activision account and/or playing on another account that doesn't own Call of Duty on Battlenet 🟠

Trying the game on another computer and/or fresh installation 🟠

Things I've tried and worked !

Going to your friend lost, selecting "manage friend list" > "select: all" > "block"

This will not remove people from your friendlist but simply block all communications and..... the game now works

UPDATE:

I have cleaned my friend list: removing people who were offline for more than a month and people with a vac or community ban. My friend list droppd to less than 600 people and... now the game fully works as intended ?

You're not gonna believe this but I managed to make it work by BLOCKING EVERYONE ON MY FRIEND LIST before launching the damn game

So I'm guessing the only solution is to refund and hop on battle.net and buy it there?

this is gonna sound weird. but i bought this when it came out but refunded it cause it wouldn't launch at all. a couple months ago i re bought it. I bought a new motherboard cause mine shit the bed, and low and behold.... i was able to play all of a sudden. This game seems really finicky on certain hardware

on my old pc, it would sometimes not start but that problem seems to be gone now that im on a new one. running the game on a new pc could be a possible solution

Any way out? Just reinstalled this shite again after months of trying with no luck on my new machine and still got stuck on T&A, not even can select or read down the terms and it sent me off to desktop after few mins.

Yes, exactly the same issue with the same amount of files! I think the missing files are about ~100Gb but even if Steam is downloading the for real, it seems that it's never installing or replacing them in the folder. Not sure what happens there

This is my situation: Steam will go on an endless loop of finding missing files, downloading them and it'll never work.
Keeps swaying 912 files failed to validate and will be re-acquired. Then it takes 20 hours to re-download and then fails all over again with the same message.
